I have no desire to criticize anyone, but I wouldn't wish the ordeal I went through on my worst enemy. I had a small bump on my nose, and the tip tended to droop when I smiled. My first surgery was performed by Dr. Duje Ostojic. I was very clear about my goals—removing the bump and slightly lifting the tip—but he shaped it into a "bird beak."
If I had known that was his peak performance, I never would have asked him to fix it, because the result was nowhere near what I requested. A year later, he performed a revision under local anesthesia and completely disfigured me (supposedly by thinning the skin from the inside). When the mold was removed, my nose was purple and flattened. Once it healed, it looked like a pear. He completely destroyed my cartilage; the nose was deformed, lacked a tip, and was crooked on asymmetric sides. It was simply HORRIBLE. Every time I looked in the mirror, I felt like I was going crazy. That "doctor" didn't even offer an apology, and he refused to refund my money until I threatened to tell every newspaper about him. As I said, I lost my mind, and once I finally found the strength, I went to the well-known Dr. Glumicic and begged him to fix it if possible.
My nose wasn't just disfigured; numerous broken capillaries appeared on the surface, so now my nose looks like an alcoholic's. I explained everything to Dr. Glumicic, and during our consultation, I felt I could trust him. He seemed confident, and when I asked if he could actually repair the damage and if he would operate on me, he replied that he couldn't fix it and wouldn't even agree to operate because he knew exactly what I had endured.
I felt relieved because I believed he was telling the truth. He seemed honest.
He operated on me, but unfortunately, I must say it doesn't look much better than before. The asymmetry remains, there is no tip, and overall, it is a CATASTROPHE. Of course, he took the money upfront—part before I arrived in NYC and part before the actual procedure. His explanation at the first follow-up was, "We struggled with your nose, but you need new cartilage." To me, that is pure insolence. I have much more to say, especially since he told me before the operation that not much could be done, yet he took the money only to say that afterward.
The last 13 years of my life have been ruined because of a simple procedure meant to beautify my face and fix a childhood issue. Instead, I received suffering that I paid for, yet I haven't even been given receipts.
If anyone knows an honest, high-quality doctor who could help me—specifically someone capable of reconstructing cartilage—please let me know. I don't want to walk through this world looking like this anymore.
