Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
gentlemaker35 said:I’m looking for recommendations for a top-tier dermatologist in Washington, D.C.—ideally someone in private practice. I've been struggling with dandruff for years now and I am desperate to finally get it under control.

Thanks!

I'm actually in the same boat, searching for a solid dermatologist in Washington, D.C. I need someone who focuses on actual medical issues rather than just cosmetic stuff.

I had a spot removed from my face by Dr. Tončić about two years ago $200. I ended up taking the sample over to Johns Hopkins myself to get it sent off for pathology analysis.
Wenger and Swiss Army Knife in NYC? in Miscellaneous ·
You can find a Swiss Army Knife shop on the Upper West Side, actually just a block over from where the CVS is, right by the corner where the IBM office stands. I was over there a few days ago picking up some pliers and tweezers.

Anthony Baker17 said:Hey there,

Does anyone have a good dentist to recommend around the Suburban neighborhood or near Central Park who accepts Medicare?
My only requirement is that she isn't some grumpy lady going through menopause who thinks she knows more about dentistry than the local GP.🙂

Thanks, LP.

I heard about a great female dentist over by Reading Terminal Market; I’m planning on switching to her once I find out exactly who she is and where her office is located today.

Elizabeth Davis said:I need to schedule a few things, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on local clinics and what kind of pricing I should expect for:
- a gastroscopy
- a breath test
- an eye exam
- a gynecological exam

Honestly, I'm not even sure if I should try to get everything done at one clinic or spread it out. So far, I've been looking into Sun, but I'm totally open to other suggestions! 🙂

You could check out Mayo Clinic. One thing I love about them is their membership card system—you can grab a basic one for $333, which actually includes a full physical. After that, you can use the remaining balance toward other services like an eye exam.
If you have the card, they even give you a 10% discount on extra procedures. Plus, a nurse basically holds your hand through the whole process, so you can get everything knocked out in a single afternoon.

The doctor is on the younger side—probably in her mid-40s. She definitely accepts new patients; my brother actually switched over to her a few months back.
She works afternoons on even days and mornings on odd days. As for referrals, I usually just call ahead and then swing by to pick them up (not sure how the whole digital referral thing works now). Regarding the nurse... well, honestly, I'd give her a shaky C.

Karen Hall68 said:I'm on the hunt for a new primary care physician. Our old family doctor finally retired, and her replacement is just... cold. I don't want to say that, but honestly, she’s ice cold. I rarely need to see a doctor, but lately, I've been ignoring actual symptoms just because I can't face sitting in an exam room with her. If anyone has any solid recommendations for a good GP in the suburbs or near New York City, please, let me know!
Thanks!!!

If you don't mind driving out toward the Runjanin area near the New York Botanical Garden, I can't recommend Dr. Snježana Kisić enough.
