No, it was more about watching her races, since I was rarely home on weekends anyway, stuck either at tournaments or grinding through college exams... and I suppose I had to shut the rest of the world out just to actually enjoy the footage, though life certainly wasn't easy back then...😁

Hey, quick side note... I was thinking about catching the Ivica race on a big screen this Friday, if anyone knows a decent sports bar near Times Square where they'll have the skiing broadcast on... I really don't feel like wasting my time hunting through random websites, though I wouldn't be surprised if I'd already hit up some local spot and just completely forgotten about it😁

Yeah, she’s talking about those slalom runs on Mount Rainier without even needing gloves or poles, that giant slalom at the 2002 Olympics, being totally untouchable in the combined, and how she’d just snatch the poles right out from under Anja Paerson whenever they faced off... I could go on about Janica all day if I wanted to, thinking back to everything I went through because of her, man, just remembering those days...😁

Honestly, there’s no point dragging Janica into this conversation, because Blanka and Ivica could probably just spend their time helping her buckle her overalls instead... ☕

If she’d actually shown up to compete back in 2004 instead of acting like the race was already over before it even started, she probably would have walked away with four trophies... but then again, looking back at all those times she completely blew it, I can't help but feel a little cynical about what could have been. Beyond just dropping those three points, I still vividly remember that one moment where she let a full second slip right before crossing the finish line against Paersonica... and honestly, she used to say herself that in women's skiing, if you mess up by more than three-tenths, you're basically finished...😁

There isn't anyone else you could even mention in the same breath as her. Not one person...

I'm not convinced gips deserved that award back in 2010, but then again, an egoist like Vlašić doesn't deserve even a mention while he's busy attacking other coaches and tearing down different sports out of pure wounded pride... He went after Ruduć first, and now he's coming for gips...
It's just a shame that gips decided to sink down to that guy's level instead of just staying cool and saying, "If he wants the award, fine, he earned it."

As far as I'm concerned, Vlašić was wronged in 2010, but his behavior just proves exactly who he is and what he's made of...

I've always been protective of Janica and everything she's achieved, so maybe you should edit your post so you aren't doing her such an injustice...😛

I'm way too talented for that kind of thing, even if I haven't stepped onto a court in five years...😁 Good luck finding someone who actually fits the bill😁
