The size is driving me crazy, especially in that second half-profile shot.😢
I'm really wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar, and how things turned out for you in the end?
Honestly, I’d be perfectly happy with how things look now. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't even go through with a Reoperation. You really need to think this one through. What if—God forbid—it ends up looking even worse? What then? Personally, I think your nose looks lovely; you don't actually need another surgery.
What does everyone else think?
If you’re planning to stay overnight, here is what you should pack:
underwear
a towel
toothbrush
toothpaste
pajamas
slippers
socks
tissues
lip balm
Here’s how it went for me:
I packed enough stuff as if I were heading to a beach resort for a month 😂>
My sister took me to my room. I had to change into pajamas without a bra and some special compression stockings she provided. Then the anesthesiologist showed up, and we went over the sedation plan. Just a heads-up: you can't have any nail polish on, you have to take off all your jewelry, wipe off all your makeup, and so on. He had to ask if I was on any medications, if this was my first surgery, if I’d eaten recently—the anesthesiologist needs to know everything. YOU CANNOT EAT FOR 12 HOURS BEFORE SURGERY IF YOU ARE GOING UNDER. Finally, I filled out some paperwork regarding the anesthesia. When the specialist explained all the potential risks, I honestly felt so terrified I considered jumping out the window 😁. That was the moment the fear really hit me; before that, I was actually looking forward to "the big day." Then the doctor arrived. He took some photos and we double-checked the surgical details one last time.
He led me into the OR. They slid one arm into my pajama sleeve while they administered the anesthesia through the other. Within two minutes, I was snoring 🙂. All I remember is hearing my sister ask the doctor, "What's going on with the blood?" That’s about it. Honestly, the surgery itself is the easiest part of the whole ordeal.
Then comes the waking up phase. I could feel the anesthesiologist pulling the tube out of my throat, and I remember struggling against it. The anesthesiologist kept telling me to breathe deeply and tried to soothe me. But in my head, I think I was dreaming that someone was trying to choke me, because I was thrashing my head around like crazy 😁. They moved me from the OR back to a room in a hospital bed. I woke up after about two hours, and my visitor was already there 🙂. The nurse looked after me all night long. You really need to keep up with your fluids. Personally, I didn't deal with any nausea at all. I was able to stand up almost immediately. Plus, I didn't have any bruising or swelling. Nothing! 🙂 It really caught me off guard. By the next day, after getting my bandages changed, I was already cleared to go home. They even gave me extra gauze to manage things at home.
The hardest part for me was dealing with the nasal packing. Eating and drinking was such a struggle. It felt like everything was going straight into my nose. My mouth was constantly parched, my lips were cracked, and the heat was just unbearable. I was so nervous I just wanted to rip everything off my body. If anyone on a forum says they're mostly afraid of breathing through their mouth, I used to think, "How bad could it be? Like having a cold?" But it isn't even close; it is way, way worse. Sleeping on my back was miserable, too. I’d wake up every thirty minutes, just waiting for morning to come. My throat was a bit sore, too.
After six days, I FINALLY got the packing removed. It felt like the doctor was pulling two massive, slimy, bloody worms out of my nose. It wasn't painful, but it was just... gross. Seriously, revolting. My advice? Close your eyes when they pull them out. It takes about two seconds. And then, I could FINALLY breathe. It was such a beautiful, yet strange sensation. Now, I'm just dealing with some weird mucus that’s clogging my nose again, so I'm back to mouth-breathing, though eating and drinking is a little more manageable now.
slyjackal14, just pray to God, and everything will be okay. Don't worry. I'm wishing you so much luck, and I hope you'll be happy and satisfied with your new nose.
My nose is feeling stuffed up again, even though I already took the tampons out. This sticky mucus is really starting to worry me. I can't blow it away, and I can't seem to clear it out either. I feel like I've scrolled through this entire forum, but I haven't seen anyone else mention anything like this—or maybe I just missed it:-S
Has anyone else dealt with something similar to this?
Emily Nguyen2 said:It’s probably not a great idea to do it this early since your nose shape is still going to settle. Since you're dealing with an accident/injury, I think you might be able to go ahead, but you'll likely need a parent's signature. Depending on the doctor, they might let you do it at 17, or they might hold out until you're 18—it really varies.

Basically, I had nose surgery last week at the Tončić clinic. My case was purely cosmetic—thank God, no functional issues to deal with.
The procedure was done under general anesthesia, performed by a junior doctor while a senior one supervised.
For the ladies reading this, just know the anesthesia isn't anything to fear. Don't sweat it. As for the guys who are scared? Maybe just stay home and have a drink instead.
Huge shoutout to all the nurses for how they treated the patients, even though I didn't show up with an insurance referral, haha.
The total came to $10,000, which I think is pretty fair. If I end up loving the results, I'll definitely leave a glowing review.
Part 2.
Once those tampons were removed, man, what a feeling. It felt like I could finally breathe again.
The actual removal wasn't painful for me, though I see some people had a rougher time... I guess it depends on the person and the doctor. For me, the nurse handled the 😁
Someone asked about that discharge—from what I gathered, it's just a cream applied to help the wounds heal faster. You just have to deal with that leaking sensation for a bit.
Right now, I'm still breathing through my mouth way more than my nose because everything is so stuffed up, which is incredibly annoying.
Question for anyone who has been through this: after the splint comes off, is it a good idea to head to the beach to help with the scarring?
Also, how soon can I get back to getting my face cleaned up professionally? (I know it's different for everyone, but just looking for a rough timeframe.)
Best,
Thanks for the reply 🙂
Wait, so I'm not supposed to blow that mucus out?? Oh man, I already blew everything out and now I'm stressing.😢
I read somewhere on the forum that going to the beach is fine, maybe even recommended, but I'd double-check with the surgeon just to be safe. I'll let you know what I find out.
Take care,
I just pulled my tampons out and now I have this weird, runny stuff dripping from my nose, oh my god 😲 was it like this for any of you guys???? How should I clean this up??? Am I allowed to blow my nose??? Taking the tampons out wasn't painful, but it was honestly just gross, gross, gross... I seriously felt like someone was pulling two huge, slimy red worms right out of my nose. 🙂🙂🙂

About 5 or 6 years ago, I had an accident and my nose got totally crooked (a deviation 😕). I used to have such a great profile and everything... now one side looks twice as big as the other... plus I have some slight trouble breathing... 🙄
A few days ago I was talking to my sister (who's currently specializing in medicine) and she told me it can be fixed without any issues... but the real hurdle is my age. I'll be turning 16 in two weeks and I really want to get this sorted before the school year starts...
My parents aren't exactly thrilled about my decision, but they've accepted it...
So, I'm wondering if it's even possible to do this given how young I am?
I'm not terrified or anything because I really want this... I don't have massive complexes about it, but there are definitely moments... 😢
HELP please! 🙏 🙏 🙏
It’s probably not recommended to go this early since your nose is still going to change shape as you grow. But since yours is due to an injury, I think you can do it—you'll likely just need your parents' signature. Some doctors will see you at 17, while others won't until you're 18; it just depends.
