So, here’s the deal. The fracture hasn't moved an inch, which is good, and when I went in for my checkup, the docs told me things are looking up. Still, you can clearly see it hasn't fully knitted back together yet. Honestly, I’m just crossing my fingers that I don't end up with a nonunion. It’s always a nagging possibility hanging over your head, isn't it?
Thanks for getting back to me! Honestly, I guess it’s a bit of a silver lining that the bone fragments haven't completely separated from each other. Anyway, I definitely misspoke—I'm not looking for some magic pill to make the healing happen overnight, just wondering if there are certain things that can actually assist the process. Like, what would actually help the body get through this?
Hey everyone. So, I’m dealing with a fractured scaphoid bone in my wrist. I’ve been stuck in this cast for five weeks now, and just got back from my follow-up appointment today. The doctor says they can still see the fracture line on the imaging, even though the pain isn't hitting me quite as hard as it was before. Long story short: I’m getting stuck in this cast for another four weeks. Is there any kind of supplement or pill I could take to actually speed up the healing process, or am I just stuck waiting? Any specific advice or things I should be doing to help the bone knit back together? Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, does anyone know if there's a specific forum or an email address where I could reach out to a specialist for a second opinion? Thanks a ton!
Yeah. A buddy of mine works at a nursing home, so he told me he'd take care of it for me. Honestly, it’s driving me insane—I can barely do anything with my right hand when the cramping kicks in. It's a total mess.
Have you been stuck going in for dressings for a while now?
Yeah, but if I try to wrap it, I’ll just end up pressing against my bladder anyway. Honestly, wrapping it wouldn't even make sense because once that pressure hits, I can barely even stretch two fingers out, let alone manage some bandage. Once the blister finally pops, things will probably feel a lot better. I read somewhere that squeezing those blisters is actually a terrible idea. They're there for a reason, after all. 🙂
It’s sitting right there on my right palm, just below the index and middle fingers. Roughly 3cm long and maybe half a centimeter wide. I'm definitely not going to pop it, obviously. Should I be wrapping it up with a bandage or some gauze while I'm slathering on the cream? Because right now, I've got nothing on it. Or maybe I should wait until the blister actually bursts?
Yeah, true. One more thing though. It says to apply it every 24 hours. Like, am I seriously supposed to just sit around and wait that long before I can touch it again?
Thanks, much appreciated. How long does it usually take for the blister to pop? I’ve got this feeling it’s not gonna happen anytime soon, and my right hand is already starting to 🙂 "primary"
Anyone actually used this stuff before??
So, I’ve got this burn on my palm—pretty sure it’s second-degree because there's a blister forming. I didn't bother hitting up the doctor or anything, just slapped some Dermatology cream on it. Now, here's the thing. Is it weird that my palm feels way hotter than the other one where I didn't put any? It’s got this light stinging sensation too... which, I guess, is listed as a side effect. Just wondering if this is normal.
