It’s been nearly a year since my surgery, and honestly, the nose looks way better than it did before—I'm generally happy with the results.
Over this past year, I’ve been watching (well, trying *not* to watch) every little change—the bumps, the lumps, all of it—constantly expecting things to just keep getting smoother. And sometimes they actually do; for instance, that bump on the right side has almost completely vanished. But then, out of nowhere, a new 🙂 popped up right at the bridge of my nose!!!! And it happened just a few days ago!!!!
But here’s what’s really driving me crazy... when I tilt my head to either side, the tip of my nose shifts toward that direction too. It’s not massive, but I definitely notice it.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I’m wondering if this is just how it stays, or if there's any actual hope that it'll eventually "stay centered."
Good luck to everyone getting ready for their procedure!!!

Don't spiral just yet—mine didn't show any real change until the 5 or 6-month mark. I’m at 8 months now and the tip still feels a bit thick, plus that little lump near the bridge hasn't fully vanished either, though it does seem to be shrinking slightly.
Sophia Young73, thanks for the reply. I'm going to go back and re-read those pages you mentioned—but honestly, it would be great if some women could chime in here about how they actually dealt with that little bump.
I’ve got my follow-up next month, so I’ll just grill the doctor about it then.
Don't sweat that little lump too much—it hasn't even been a month since your surgery, so everything is still super fresh...
[Before my surgery, I didn't have this little bump on my nasal bone, but now it's there. Hoping it just goes down. Anyone else dealing with something similar?]
It’s been 8 months since my surgery—most of the swelling has definitely subsided, but I'm still stuck with this lump near my nose. I’ve seen other people online mentioning a bump, though I can't be sure if they're talking about the exact same thing I am. Mine is right at the bridge of the nose (near the eye) on the right side. When I touch it, it feels rock hard—like actual bone thickening. It might not even be a huge deal aesthetically (even if it is visible), but it’s incredibly annoying when I wear glasses; they don't sit flat on my face anymore, they just hover awkwardly in mid-air. 😕
Is there any chance this bump could actually disappear?

.
I've got this little bump right at the bridge of my nose—sides and front too. I'm guessing it's calcification since the area is pretty swollen. Can I smooth that bump out by massaging it—maybe using a bit more pressure—so it eventually disappears? What's even the point of these massages in the first place?
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a quick rundown of my experience—both functional and aesthetic—just in case it helps anyone else out here. I know for a fact that reading other people's stories helped me get through this.
The surgery was about a month ago. My old nose was at least two sizes too big for my face—wide and way too long. Because of that, my expectations were pretty low: things couldn't possibly get worse, so if they just made it shorter or narrower, I’d be thrilled. My nose isn't some airbrushed magazine model look, but it's nearly an inch shorter, looks much better, feels more natural, and honestly, I am over the moon 🙂)
I should mention that recovery isn't exactly a walk in the park. The bleeding I dealt with after the packing was removed actually spooked me. I wasn't expecting that at all—I genuinely thought my stitches had popped or that something had gone wrong internally—but turns out, it's totally normal. Even though I knew there would be massive swelling once the packing came out, seeing how gnarly everything looked was still a shock. In moments like that, having family there to back you up is everything 🙂 But yeah, that part passes and you eventually forget it happened.
Interestingly, nobody has even noticed my new nose—not my coworkers, not even my extended family. It just goes to show that people react to your personality, not your nose, but it also proves the surgeon did a solid job. I don't look drastically different than I did a month ago, but I feel a whole lot better. That’s what matters most, and that's why it was worth it 🙂 I was operated on by Bastaić, and seriously, kudos to him!!!
Wishing the best of luck to everyone getting ready for their procedure!!!
Does anyone know how much they charge for a combined procedure—cosmetic work plus a septum repair—over at the Kaplan Clinic? I’ve been combing through this forum, but I can't seem to find anything on it (unless I somehow missed it).
