Also, maybe you guys could suggest some other graphics cards from Nvidia that are around this price point—or even cheaper—as long as they work with my board

I’d just go with Windows XP. Honestly, on a setup like that, if you try running Windows 7, you won't get much actual gaming done anyway. The processor is just too sluggish, and Windows 7 eats up way too much RAM and about 20GB of hard drive space. I guess if you really want to play some older games, maybe stick with Windows 7 instead!!
