Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Looks like my cycle was just acting up again. She finally got it right on schedule, so I don't think there's anything actually wrong. Huge thanks for all the solid advice, especially you, Ivanicapec.

Her cycle had finally leveled out after the summer, hovering around 27 to 29 days—maybe hitting 30 once in a while. It hadn't swung this wildly before. Plus, her fertile window usually lasted about five days based on cervical mucus, but this month? Barely one day.

Also, I forgot to mention that the exact same thing happened this time last year. Her cycle was usually around 23 days, then it bumped up to 26, and kept climbing until it hit about 28 days by summer. Then, out of nowhere, it jumped to 34. She didn't feel a thing—felt completely fine. I was literally walking out of a CVS with a test when she tells me her stomach is killing her, and a few hours later, her period starts. Is it possible the change in temperature this time of year could cause this? Doesn't really make sense to me, though...

Can we please get some actual, serious answers here? If I’m taking the time to write a serious post, I’d appreciate being met with that same level of maturity. We can go troll each other in some other thread.

Thanks, Angela Wright, for the lovely response—honestly, replies like yours deserve a medal. But I’ll say it again: it wasn't some massive hemorrhage, just slightly heavier than my usual cycle.

Thanks for the thoughtful response, Angela Wright, but I honestly doubt she was pregnant last month. If that were the case, she would have definitely noticed some symptoms by now. We’ve always used her fertile mucus to track her ovulation, and it’s pretty much always landed around 14 to 16 days before her period starts. That’s just how it works. What really has me worried is this delay. Could it be because her last period was heavier? I just don't buy the idea that conception happened that late.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insight regarding periods. My girlfriend had a longer and heavier period this cycle than usual. It normally lasts 5 days, but this month it went for 6 and was a bit heavier. I don't mean she was bleeding constantly like a broken faucet or anything extreme, just more than her baseline. Her cycles are usually around 30 days, but today is day 33 and she hasn't started yet. I'm wondering if the heavier flow from last time could be causing this delay?

Just to clarify, I track her fertile window based on discharge, which we've been monitoring for a while. Her peak fertility should have been on day 17; that's when the discharge was clearest and heaviest. We had unprotected sex—pulling out—on cycle days 12, 21, and 24. In my mind, those seem pretty far from the fertile window since an egg only lives for about 24 hours. Let's call her fertile window days 15 through 19, though the cervical mucus wasn't great. She really only had that clear discharge on day 17.

So, my question is: can a heavier period cause a late cycle? She hasn't had much cramping over the last week compared to what she usually feels before her period. She rarely gets bad cramps, but over the weekend she felt this sensation like something "leaked," though nothing actually happened. From Saturday until yesterday, there was zero discharge, but now she's seeing a very light, creamy white discharge.

Any experiences with this? Please skip the provocations and the jokes.
Fair enough. I didn't actually ask if I could use Russian wheels. It’s just one rotation, but I'm doing those elements on the floor. Exactly how they show up in the videos. Not positive about the first element, but I think it's Thomas.
Can someone give me the names of these components?
