What if I decide on an Intel Core i5-2500K instead of the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition? In that case, what kind of power supply would you recommend?

And what if I decided to pick up another graphics card down the road? Also, what kind of build would you suggest to make a 650W power supply feel just right?

I am planning to pick up a Cooler Master Elite case, which I intend to equip with five fans and perhaps some LED strips or neon lighting. My manager suggested I opt for a 650W power supply, yet I have seen recommendations for 450W elsewhere. I am concerned that 450W might be insufficient, and I would prefer not to run the unit at its absolute maximum capacity. Would a 550W unit be adequate to ensure the power supply isn't overstressed, assuming it is a high-quality model?

I am looking for some advice on a quality power supply that is sufficient for this build while remaining budget-friendly. The vendor I am purchasing these parts from suggested a 650-700W unit. I worry he might be trying to upsell me unnecessarily. Thank you all for your help! 🙂

It is quite funny... my internship supervisor actually told me I should go with a 650W-700W unit... but I really don't have the desire to swap out my motherboard. Everything seems a bit overpriced to me right now, so I would probably just opt for a lower-end processor instead. Are these power supplies actually reliable? Will they be sufficient given that I am using a Zotac card and have six fans in my case?

To be honest, I am not an expert when it comes to power supplies, so I would truly appreciate some guidance. I am currently putting together a new PC specifically for gaming, and my planned build includes:
AMD Phenom ii x4 975 (3.6 GHz) Black Edition
Zotac GeForce GTX 560 ti AMP
ASROCK 890GX Extreme4
NZXT Tempest Evo (6 fans)

Given those specs, what kind of reliable, high-quality power supply would you recommend? I am trying to stay budget-conscious, so price is a significant factor for me.😕
