It is quite unfortunate; we are left simply waiting for NVIDIA to release their response in the form of the GTX 475. Word is that its performance should surpass the entire 68XX series, though the pricing remains an unknown variable... 🙂
Bryan Evans77 said:there will likely be rebranding, new chips, and all sorts of shuffling... essentially, making something like a 5750 become a 6850 just to confuse those who don't follow hardware closely, while a 5770 might simply become a 6770 with slightly improved performance ofc...
but we won't truly know anything until the cards actually hit the market and the reviews, benchmark tests, and such are released... 👍
You mean 5770 to 6870. 😉
If you are choosing between those two power supplies, I would suggest opting for the 650W model instead... While the VX 550W is quite reliable—I actually use one myself—it does possess one significant drawback, which is that the fan becomes rather loud when the system demands higher wattage. If maintaining a silent environment is important to you, that is something to consider...

Having only 768MB of VRAM is certainly not ideal when you are trying to run at 1920x1200 resolution.

If the overclocking is handled properly, then it stands neck and neck with the 5850...😉
I was wondering, is that an AGP graphics card?
As far as I am aware, items falling under the category of $333 are exempt from customs duties... 🤷

Since I installed Mafia II today, I have been dealing with shadow issues in the game, and since this specific 1950 model is showing them, I fear that most upcoming titles might also struggle with my current graphics configuration... What are your thoughts on this matter?
Have you attempted to install different drivers? It is certainly possible that the issue does not stem from the card itself.
Since that is a DX9 card and modern games typically require at least DX9 to run, you shouldn't encounter massive compatibility failures, though you should probably prepare to forgo high-end settings... You might manage medium settings at a moderate resolution, but for anything more demanding, you would likely need a newer DX10 or DX11 card, along with a complete system upgrade to support such hardware.
The gtx 465 doesn't actually offer any real speed advantages over the 460 in gaming, yet it carries a higher price tag. When you consider the value proposition, if you can't get your hands on a 460—ideally the 1GB version—you would honestly be better off picking up a Radeon, such as the 5850...
At higher resolutions, the GTX 460 should demonstrate a noticeable boost in speed, while at mid-range settings like 1680x1050, it ought to be slightly faster as well. Naturally, the GTX 460 runs quite cool, which allows for significant overclocking potential. I have never personally owned a 9800 gx2, but from what I have gathered while researching the GTX 460, many people suggest opting for the 460 over the 9800 gx2, if for any reason at all, it is because of the thermal performance... 😁
A few days ago, I picked up an MSI 460 gtx 1 and I am feeling very satisfied with the purchase. 😉
I have a quick question regarding the GTX 1060 1GB (256-bit) version. I have been searching through the major retailers, but I haven't had any luck finding one, except for a single unit at Best Buy. I am specifically hoping to find an ASUS, NVIDIA, or EVGA model, but they seem to be nowhere to be found... if anyone could offer some guidance, I would truly appreciate it.
My only confusion lies in the pricing; in America, this card sits around $200 to $220, which feels incredibly unreasonable when I compare it to the prices we see here locally. 😁
Have you checked any other local retailers? It seems highly unlikely that they aren't available anywhere else... 😁
Many cards on the market today share similar price points, yet the actual performance and capabilities between them vary by a vast margin.
