Help! I can't get this fever to break :( in Health ·
It doesn't necessarily have to be directly linked. But with neuroblastoma—specifically in the abdomen—one of the symptoms can be a low-grade fever. I’d take the same approach and push for a more detailed blood panel, just to make sure there isn't something small but... troublesome hiding somewhere and causing issues.

i'll give that a shot

I forgot to mention—you’ll need to attach the receipt from the exam too.😉

For an MRI, I'd really suggest the Neuron clinic over in the Šalat area... they're quick, prices aren't higher than anywhere else, and they actually have a 3T machine—the only one like it in the US. (most others are just 1.5T).

if anyone knows anything about how that works, please let me know. I need to watch every cent—this therapy is going to take a while and who knows what other expenses are coming down the line

Go down to Medicare and ask for the "insured person's claim for cost reimbursement" form. Just check the box under item number one for unjustified medical service charges...
Basically, just state that the medical facility wouldn't allow an urgent exam that was absolutely necessary due to certain reasons. Attach your medical records (photocopies) along with a specialist's recommendation or proof why the urgent visit was needed. Hand everything in to Medicare and you should get your money back within two months. If they give you any nonsense, make sure to appeal it.

Our hospital refused to send us for a routine (MRI) scan after a tumor re-operation, and that’s how we got our money back.
