I've been slathering on Jomelop regularly, but honestly? No real whitening happening here. Maybe it's like 2-3% lighter than it was ten days ago, but let's be real, that's basically nothing... or maybe I'm just imagining things...

I'm genuinely stumped on what actually caused this. It doesn't even feel like a typical scar to me. I mean, I don't think I've ever heard of a scar forming on day two or three, especially before the scab even falls off... but I've had this redness since the second day after the scratch! To me, it feels more like something deep under the skin, some kind of pigment issue... then again, it's not quite a bruise either, I know what those look like...
Not sure if there's even any point in sticking with Jomelop since this thing isn't going to fade anytime soon at this rate. 😢

(I even went for blood work the other day for some routine checks—you know, because of my chronic condition—and everything came back perfect)

So, my experience with scarring has always been that they show up—or at least become super noticeable—right after the scab falls off. Usually, it only happens if things take a while to heal, you know, like when a scab sticks around for a few weeks...
In this specific case, where the scab used to be, there are these tiny little white lines visible (but only if I stretch the skin out), and then there's this redness surrounding them (not actually on the scratches themselves, just off to the sides)

With how red this area is, I managed to spot maybe 7 or 8 little hairs...
Honestly, it still looks more like some weird skin pigmentation to me.

I don't have any issues, really... nothing normally and nothing when I touch it.

But if it's just a skin reaction, then Jomelop shouldn't be doing any harm, right?

They grow back, but they're super thin and sparse... there's just a tiny bit of something there. Why?

But I don't get it, don't scars form right where the wound actually happened? Because this thing was like, what, a millimeter wide? And when the redness stretches out in the middle, you can see this tiny white line, like a little scar, but otherwise, it's barely even noticeable.
Is this redness some sort of warning sign for a scar (which makes zero sense to me) or could it just be my skin reacting?

Look, the scabs don't bother me—well, the wound doesn't... those already fell off and left this super thin trace behind (you can barely even see it in the photos) that probably won't even show up.

Because I don't remember redness sticking around this long after a scratch before... and I've had ones that actually bled. Maybe the scab would stay longer, but here the scab fell off instantly because the wound is literally millimeter-sized. It's just this redness that's lingering. 😢

So I started applying the Jomelop, doing like 15-minute massages (even though the manual says 5-10)... we'll see how it goes, I guess.

Is there anything else out there that actually works? Like dermabrasion, laser treatments, or something...?
I mean, I'd probably have to tell them if I went that route, but whatever... I just want this fixed, even if it means dealing with a little embarrassment. 🙂

So, let's just dive straight into the main issue... dealing with these scars ASAP. I figure there's no harm in trying now since they're long since healed over anyway.

I'm stuck wondering if I should go and slap a soaked gauze pad with some Jomelop on them right before hitting the hay. I mean, that's what the instructions say, but honestly? It feels totally pointless to me... at this stage, the skin has already taken what it's gonna take, and whatever's left just ends up soaking into the gauze.

To me, it looks more like some kind of dark pigment under the skin rather than an actual scar! Is it even possible for a scar to form there? 😢

I actually have Mederma at home already (for some old scars elsewhere), but my dermatologist once told me "Jomelop E" works even better for scarring, so I've got that too.
Which one should I use?

Because once the redness stretches out, you can see this super thin little line right in the middle, and it’s already healed up—no scabs left at all. That tiny line is sitting right in the center of the redness, basically where the wound split into two red zones. (It doesn't even show up in the photo because the resolution is too low for something that fine)

Yeah, it looks thickened, though if you stretch that red area out, you can just barely see this tiny little line from where the wound healed (like, maybe a millimeter wide).

So if it isn't irritation or some blood trapped under the skin, then what the hell is it?

Look, at the very least, I'm telling you there wasn't any bleeding—not externally, anyway. Not even a little bit. So yeah, it was totally superficial.

So how am I supposed to "clear it out"?

It’s not irritation, not inflamed or anything like that. Actual redness happened the first day, maybe two at most, and then it cleared up. It stung a little back then, so that was definitely inflammation. But that was two weeks ago. To me, this is strictly blood under the skin because the color isn't even bright red—it's more like a dark, muddy crimson, kind of like how blood looks when it clots, which I'm pretty sure is what's happening here.
If I stretch the skin, it turns lighter, probably because the blood is spreading out or whatever. I don't think that would happen if it were just some surface irritation. Besides, it wouldn't be stinging or anything...

So, yeah, definitely blood under the skin if you ask me!
