But I don't get it. Don't scars form right where the wound actually was? This cut was tiny—like, millimeter-sized—but when this redness stretches out through the middle, you can see this little thin line, like a mini scar. Otherwise, you can barely tell how thin it is.
Is this redness just an early sign of a scar (which doesn't make sense to me), or is it just the skin reacting?

Just a skin reaction... for a scar to stay, you'd need a really deep cut. You didn't do that, and you can't do that with a needle. If you'd used a knife, sure, you'd have a scar. But this? It'll fade away eventually. Just be patient...
Sorry, cosmicmaker30, that wasn't supposed to be your quote.😉
cosmicmaker30 said:Okay... what on earth did you do? This looks pretty swollen to me. I don't see any bruising under the skin or anything, and no redness either, which is good—no sign of inflammation. But honestly, it looks a bit thicker than how you described it... and you're saying this has been going on for how many days now?

Hey, post a photo so we can actually see what's happening. And wait, are you a girl? lol😂
cosmicmaker30 said:it doesn't matter... everyone deserves some comfort... maybe you don't see the point, but for someone else, it might be everything...

Look, I already said it twice—it’s going to fade. There won't be any permanent mark left behind. I've been there myself, totally losing it and cutting things into my skin back in the day... depending on how big the lettering is, in about a month and a half, it'll be gone. Seriously, there is zero reason to worry. Everything is going to be fine! My comment wasn't meant to be hurtful, I just wanted to stop the panic... peace 🙂
Good grief... you aren't dead yet!!!! 🙂 You're fine...! Imagine if it had been something actually serious 🙂 we'd be drowning in threads right now....!

Some of you say wait, some say use ointment. I think I’ll try being patient and just wait a few more weeks before deciding on any creams.

Growing up, I was always getting injured—way worse than these little scratches—and they’d always heal incredibly fast. That’s why I’m low-key panicking here.
I mean, this already closed up in a couple of days, but the redness just won't budge!

Anyway, I'll be patient. I'll definitely check back in a few weeks. (Assuming I don't have another panic attack in the meantime, lol)

Man, you worry too much! Seriously, it’ll fade and leave zero trace... if you really want to, you could use some Aquaphor, though you don't really need it. Just keep it clean and use some antiseptic... and that's it.😁

But seriously... this will pass quickly. Stop rubbing alcohol on it... just grab some skin cream... maybe some Vaseline or something... those work wonders for redness....

Honestly, you don't even need to put anything on it. Maybe just a tiny bit of alcohol to disinfect or wash it with water... it won't leave a scar. The name might be visible for a little while, but it'll fade away on its own... leaving absolutely no trace...
Yeah, just change your name to John lol. Then you can claim you love signing things (crazy names are everywhere)...
Haha, I totally get it. I actually did the same thing—not just once, either, but like, a whole phase... You know that high school era? I was going through this total punk phase, haha, and out of pure boredom, I grabbed a metal file and carved "PUNK" and "A.C.A.B." right into my hand. I thought it looked so cool at the time that I kept doing it lol... Yeah, I was definitely out of my mind. Fast forward six years and lol, there isn't even a trace left... hahaha. But hey, I won't scare you anymore! It stayed on my skin for about a month, and I didn't even put anything on it to make it stick.
