Is this a real thing? in Health ·
It’s honestly pretty tough to draw a straight line between just having a disorder and actually being sick. Things like paranoia or feeling totally apathetic—those are mental health disorders, sure, but if you're dealing with something schizoid in nature, it sounds like something is triggering a real split in your personality or causing this bivalent state. That’s definitely not a way to live, though. Personally, I’d suggest looking into some holistic or natural approaches. I dealt with major apathy myself once—it was actually caused by an underlying physical illness—and I struggled through different phases for a couple of years before I finally snapped out of it in just a few days. Mind you, I wrote a whole separate post about my experience with that over on the women’s health thread regarding PCOS.
I actually know someone who went through the ringer with anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizoid psychosis. They managed to pull through too, but they didn't do it using stuff like Ativan or Xanax. Usually, there's something pulling at you from childhood or your early years—some trauma, massive stress, a complex, or just deep-seated dissatisfaction. Psychoanalysis can really help, but let's be real, those sessions go on forever. If you try to go through a community clinic, it might not be great, and private therapists in the States can be insanely expensive, even if they are high quality. Just keep digging around a bit; you'll figure something out. 🙂
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Sarah Jones70 said:I was on Yasmin and stopped taking it about two months ago... my first period came right on schedule, but now my second one is already a week late. Plus, I'm dealing with nausea and some pretty intense ovarian pain—basically all the usual symptoms I get right before my period hits. Is it totally normal for things to be this delayed after quitting the pill, or is there something actually wrong with me? 🙂please help!!!!!

I can't give you a definitive answer, but I'm in the exact same boat. I quit hormones too—I was supposed to get my period around October 25th, and still nothing. Honestly, I haven't had a single "normal" cycle since I stopped, aside from that one immediately after finishing the last pack. And I am definitely, one hundred percent not pregnant.
