Honestly, I don't see the point in even trying. You aren't going to magically upgrade a DivX file to actual DVD quality through a conversion process. Besides, the physical media itself feels somewhat redundant these days since most modern DVD players can handle DivX formats just fine without any extra effort.😁

As for me, I tend to acquire my films through various channels—picking them up at a local shop or renting from a video store. Everything I own is strictly DVD quality, because if I'm going to bother, I might as well prioritize high fidelity.

P.S. I really have to mention that Penn absolutely nailed his performance in Mystic River. It was that same year that Depp earned a nomination for Pirates, too. Honestly, there are certain instances where I find myself at odds with the Academy's decisions. That particular role is truly one of a kind. I’m convinced that Jack Sparrow was essentially crafted by Depp himself—everything from the physical aesthetic down to the very essence of the character. Apparently, Disney wasn't even entirely on board with him initially; he basically gave them an ultimatum: take him as he is, or he's out. To prepare, Depp would actually lock himself in a sauna for hours at a time just to simulate the intense heat those old sea captains endured. That’s how he developed the inspiration for the role, including that signature, heavy-footed gait 😁..

No. 1 is undoubtedly in Four Rooms. The film is a masterpiece, and that alone is due to his performance. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone else being more perfectly suited for that role. There’s something I just love about seeing an actor truly inhabit a space and craft a character so uniquely specific to the film's DNA.

I was actually having a debate with Penn about this. Look, he’s a total legend, and there's a very good reason his room isn't lacking any Oscars. But Penn has this certain... let's call it a "type." He often plays those roles where you're essentially just looking for "Penn." What Roth achieved with the runner in Four Rooms, however, is pure cinematic fantasy. To put it in perspective—though I'm struggling to find the right way to phrase this—it would be like comparing Depp, specifically his Jack Sparrow era, to what we saw here. If you know what I mean.

even though I have about 120 of them sitting around
but I much prefer using DivX...

it just feels like DVDs take up way too much space...
I pick them up at local convenience stores or through trades, but only if it's actually a decent movie—and even then, I usually already have a copy on DivX or a VCR😁😁😁

I honestly have little patience for people who turn their backs on quality😁

By the way, could you clarify what you mean by "taking up space"? Are we talking about storage capacity on a hard drive? Because from my understanding, the physical dimensions of a DVD and a CD are identical😁.
