It really depends on how far along things are because there are four different stages. For the first two, you aren't actually curing the reflux itself; instead, doctors use continuous antibiotic prophylaxis to stop bacteria from crawling up into the bladder and kidneys. During this treatment phase, while the child is still growing, the expectation is that those anatomical issues with the ureters will eventually straighten themselves out naturally.
