Aha. Now I get it. Consider the mystery surrounding The Hold Steady officially solved. Honestly, props to them. I’m just sitting here wondering who on earth suggested they cover Simon & Garfunkel.

And who even decides their lineup? I seriously doubt the organizers just woke up one day and thought, "Hey, let's book Amadou & Mariam and The Hold Steady..."

We’re talking about all that fallout following the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and honestly, I don't feel like rehashing the same old grievances. It’s pretty obvious what the deal is here. It looks like the organizers have a framed hundred-dollar bill hanging right above their beds. $3.25 He used a cheap gold Sharpie because a real gilded frame was way out of his budget. He prays to that center every single night before hitting the sack, and you can feel the influence everywhere at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—especially if you’re actually on his payroll. And then there's the music. Sometimes even that fails to lift your mood, leaving you just sitting there wondering what the point is.

it’s certainly not the only festival I’ve hit up, but it’s the only one that left a bad taste in my mouth. In my book, that says way more about the event than it does about me. And while we're at it, can someone please explain this whole "Jacob theory" everyone keeps bringing up?

I just hope they slot them in during one of those ridiculous off-peak hours—something like Hold Steady—so I can actually watch them in peace without the madness.

😍😍😍 Honestly, that's the most beautiful and raw thing anyone has said about that festival—it was the one place on earth where I actually started questioning if I even liked music. Now I realize the problem wasn't me.😛
