And yeah—no bloody stools... thank God for that! Just one more thing I don't need on top of everything else...
No, I haven't touched it in a week and a half. Look, I’ve always just been one of those people who powers through the pain because my period cramps are absolutely brutal—so yeah, things felt totally off during that first week, and since the discomfort wouldn't quit, I had to stop taking the Clindamycin. But now? I've been bleeding for about 18 days straight. And you know what? You actually hit the nail on the head regarding the photosensitivity thing—I completely ignored that part 😁 ugh, I seriously can't wait until tomorrow so I can finally get this whole mess sorted out...
I'm heading to see my OB-GYN tomorrow. Honestly, I am just completely wiped out and exhausted by all of this. Thanks for clearing that up for me...
So I guess it’s not just me then... Sophia Thomas97, can you actually tell me how dangerous this whole thing is? And did you deal with any bleeding (and when did that stuff actually stop??)
They’re gonna kill me for this, no doubt about it, but I really need to know what's actually going on here. Can a standard antibiotic seriously cause this much chaos???
So I’ve got a massive problem on my hands. My dentist prescribed me some Clindamycin because I have this brutal tooth infection that just wouldn't quit. Everything seemed fine at first, until things went south real fast 😢 😵 . Get this—the exact same day I started the antibiotic, my period hit. And it wasn't just a normal period; I’m talking intense pain in my lower abdomen, my kidneys, my lower back, plus diarrhea... it was absolute chaos. This was about two and a half weeks ago. After a week on the Clindamycin—and I didn't think much of the side effects since, you know, period cramps are normal—I realized nothing was stopping. My fever was consistently running high and I looked like a ghost. I finally decided to stop taking the Clindamycin because the tooth inflammation actually calmed down. That was all happening during that first week. Then, over the weekend, my period seemed to taper off. I thought, "Great, finally," but then everything flared right back up a week and a half later. 😲 The bleeding just won't stop. I rushed to see my OB-GYN, who basically brushed me off and told me to come back in two weeks because the bleeding should have stopped by then. Are you kidding me? So here I am, it's Wednesday, and I've been bleeding for two and a half weeks straight. On top of that, my right kidney has been aching for a week. I'm heading back to the gynecologist tomorrow for some intensive testing (assuming they'll even see me if I'm still bleeding). Does anyone have any clue what is going on? I’m convinced it might be a reaction to the Clindamycin—I can't see any other cause besides some kind of systemic inflammation. Has anyone else gone through something like this? 🤷
