Retinal Detachment: Experiences and advice?

Hey everyone,
It’s been about two months since I had cataract surgery, and I ended up dealing with a retinal detachment on the bottom part of my eye. They had to fill my eye with gas to get the retina to stick back in place, but now I’m seeing everything weird—straight lines look all wavy and distorted, and the vision just feels darker compared to my other eye. My doctor told me it might just take some time for those lines to straighten out again.
Has anyone else dealt with stuff like this after an operation? Did the distortion eventually go away, and if so, how long did it take for things to look normal again..?
