It feels like so few people have even heard this term mentioned before, let alone actually dealt with the issue firsthand... but seriously, does absolutely nobody know ANYTHING about this?😢

So, it’s been 6 days since the surgery and honestly, things are feeling a lot better... I still have some tenderness when touched, but compared to those first few days? It's negligible. My doctor advised me to skip the bath for a week or at least wrap everything up in a plastic bag while showering just to be safe... I didn't mind waiting 6 days, but I finally hopped in the shower today. Why all the caution? Well, because the skin is incredibly raw and sensitive during those first couple of days (I definitely saw quite a bit of blood on my underwear...), and if the stitches come out too early, you risk unnecessary complications... (I assume he's talking about the frenulum area)
It really takes a massive amount of patience and focus!! Especially at night while you're trying to sleep (you've got to prevent any unwanted erections)
From what I can tell, everything was handled pretty cleanly... I'll be able to give a better assessment once the stitches dissolve, since they're still in place right now...

As far as I understand, during a frenuloplasty, the frenulum is cut transversely to effectively lengthen it.🤷

I’m actually a regular here on the forum, but I decided to set up a new profile because this is a private matter I’d prefer to keep somewhat under wraps. 🙂
For those who aren't familiar, the frenulum is just that elastic strip of skin connecting the glans to the foreskin. removed link Frenulum breve is the condition where a short frenulum makes moving the foreskin difficult or even impossible. It can be something you're born with, or it can tighten up over time due to masturbation or sexual activity. Because of the pain caused by a short frenulum, it can lead to issues during an erection. When things get tight during an erection, the glans usually pulls downward. You can actually lengthen the frenulum through a surgical procedure (frenuloplasty), where the frenulum is cut transversely—I don't quite remember the technical specifics of the incision😁...basically, they just stitch everything back up at the end. It's done under local anesthesia, and in my case, the whole thing took about 20 minutes. Recovery takes roughly two weeks.
I really want to encourage other guys out there: if you're dealing with this or something similar, please go see a urologist. So many men feel too embarrassed and just suffer in silence, which is such a shame.
I'm 20 years old, and honestly, I wanted to fix this two years ago. But my primary care physician kept brushing me off, saying she didn't see anything unusual and that everything was perfectly fine with mine. 😁 Everything was "normal" according to her.
Anyway, I went through the procedure yesterday. I'm relieved it's over—it wasn't scary at all! But now that the wounds are healing... a few questions are weighing on my mind.
I bled quite a bit yesterday, though it's significantly less today, which makes sense since the wound is still fresh. I also noticed that when I urinate, everything feels much easier and the stream is more fluid! It's exactly how it should be... but I'm still wondering: how will that tight ring of skin just below the glans become more elastic, even after the frenulum itself has been lengthened? Does anyone happen to know?
By the way, I'd like to ask the mods not to delete this thread. This could be a great space to focus specifically on this issue rather than just general reproductive health.
