Hey everyone, jumping onto the forum for the first time. My mom just got hit with a Stage IV large T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis last week. She’s starting chemo in just seven days, and honestly, my head is spinning. We aren't total strangers to lymphomas—my brother has been battling small B-cell NHL for almost five years now. His was also Stage IV, but since his is indolent, he actually managed to hit remission once already. But man, what my mom is facing is a whole different beast. This specific type is super rare (only about 15% of lymphomas fall into this category) and it's notoriously aggressive. It's often linked to digestive issues, most commonly celiac disease, and it moves incredibly fast. The prognosis is brutal, too—statistically, 0% of patients at Stage IV make it past the two-year mark. I’m really wondering if anyone here has experience dealing with T-cell NHL? What should I even be expecting? For context, Mom is being treated at Merkur under Dr. Ostojić and Dr. Pereica (my brother is seeing Dr. Labar over at Mayo Clinic).
