Thanks for the advice... He had his first round of chemo today and honestly, he handled it like a champ. I mean, does that mean every single session is going to be this smooth? Who knows. But still, seeing him get through the first one without a total meltdown is such a huge relief. He’s heading back in for the second round tomorrow morning, then we get a week's break before the next cycle starts. Being here in the States, the doctors can be pretty stiff—they aren't exactly thrilled if you even mention using anything they didn't personally prescribe themselves—but I’ve been doing some digging. I've been talking to people who have been through this exact same thing, and they mentioned that taking Germanium can actually make the chemo side effects a bit more manageable. It’s definitely not cheap—it's about $65 a bottle—but if it helps him get through this nightmare a little easier, money is honestly the last thing on my mind right now. Thanks again to everyone!
Thanks... I’ve actually picked up some pretty useful tips here... Honestly though, we have no idea what kind of nightmare we've walked into. Back in May, he had a CT scan on his lungs because he couldn't stop choking, and everything looked totally fine—but then we did another one in October and they found three cysts, measuring 10, 11, and 13 cm. They initially thought it was a tumor, but then the bronchoscopy results came back saying there aren't actually any cancer cells present. The catch? They can't operate because those cysts are pressing right against an artery, so he starts chemotherapy this Monday. We are just completely blindsided by all of this... I did find out that Helium is supposed to be good for boosting the immune system, so we're going to try starting with that
Hey everyone—if anyone out there could give me some advice, is there like a specific diet or anything at all that might make dealing with chemo a little less brutal? Just looking for anything to help me get through it. Peace to you all.
