Hello to everyone active on this thread...
If I had known you all existed just two years ago... my life would have been so much easier.
To be honest, my mom lost her battle with a grade 3 oligodendroglioma brain tumor one year and seven months ago, after fighting for 11 months. It all happened so fast; one day she was perfectly healthy, and the next, she was terminally ill. She went into her first brain surgery with a smile on her face, but by the next day, she was paralyzed and struggling to speak due to a medical error at the hospital.
I had to stay strong through all of it—trying not to break, staying positive and optimistic... mostly for her sake, and then for my dad's... even though I was falling apart inside.
I really respect what you all do here. There needs to be a place where you can say everything weighing on your heart and hear a kind word in return... even if it won't help the sick family member, it helps those of us left behind.
