Thank you, Angela Wright. For the last two months, I've been reading through everyone's stories here, and honestly, I have nothing but admiration for all of you.
Mom is doing alright; the side effects from the patch finally settled down by Tuesday. She has another follow-up with the Oncologist soon, and we're hoping to start targeted treatment for the spot on her shoulder blade, since that is currently the primary source of her pain.😢

My mother is battling lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain, shoulder blade, and hip.
A metastasis on her cerebellum was surgically removed a month ago, but a subsequent PET/CT scan revealed the other sites.
She was doing relatively well, but she’s been experiencing intense pain in her arm. We applied her first 25mg patch yesterday, and today she is feeling absolutely terrible.
My question is: how long do these nausea side effects typically last, and is there an end in sight?😢
I have spent countless hours reading through your posts, yet I still feel completely lost... the patches she is using are Matrifen.
To be perfectly blunt...
She was admitted to Neurology on July 4th due to vomiting; a CT scan identified metastases, which were then confirmed by an MRI.
The lesion on the cerebellum was successfully removed during surgery, and currently, the incision site isn't showing any immediate danger.
But then, reality truly sets in...
My 55-year-old mother has lung cancer.
The pain is concentrated in her right arm because of the metastasis on her shoulder blade.
She has completed five rounds of cranial radiation and has started pain management patches; now, we are just waiting for the next set of instructions.
And honestly, we are still struggling to wrap our heads around the fact that this is actually happening to us.
