I really need some advice here. My mother-in-law was fighting colon cancer, and honestly, we thought we had won. Everything went smoothly through the initial stages, followed by chemo, and she seemed to be doing great. Then, out of nowhere, two months later, she developed an intestinal blockage—the doctors claim it was a side effect of the chemotherapy. She underwent surgery, and once again, we thought we were in the clear. But then the nightmare started. Two weeks later, she ended up back in the hospital because she couldn't pass stool. They had to pump her stomach, and she was sent home, only for this exact same thing to happen twice more. Today, she finally came home, but the doctor basically gave us a death sentence. He told us there’s nothing more they can do; her intestines simply won't function. He said we could keep her in a hospital bed for the next 20 years and it wouldn't change a thing. She’s absolutely devastated. She’s dropped down to 54 kg (about 120 lbs) and has completely lost her will to fight. We are at our absolute breaking point. If anyone has dealt with something similar or has any insight, please, I am begging for help. Thank you.
