My dear mom is 58. It’s primarily colon cancer, now metastasized to her bones, lungs, and lymph nodes. This whole process has been going on since 2006.
Because of the insane bone pain from the metastases, she went in for palliative radiation last week. Now, she’s been vomiting for six days straight. We have the ER on speed dial every single day, and they seem more and more dismissive whenever I call about her injections.
Does anyone have experience with how to stop vomiting after radiation? Is it normal for this to drag on this long? On top of that, she’s dealing with stomach pains in the upper abdomen—just below the ribs but above the actual stomach—that we just can't settle.
We’re losing our minds over the cocktail of meds and injections she’s getting. So far, nothing has worked. (Zofran, Buscopan, Ranix, Reglan, Torecan, Normabel, Diazepam)
Please, if anyone has any experience, an answer, or even just an idea. I’m about to lose it with doctors constantly brushing us off and acting like everything is fine when it isn't.😠
