Kevin Garcia12 said:It’s slightly elevated, but it's hard to pin down why. Liver enzymes can be pretty reactive to various supplements—like carnitine, for example. I don't know exactly how much impact they have, but they could play a role, or maybe not. Honestly, someone who deals with this daily would have a better idea. It might be the supplements, or it might be nothing at all...

Cholesterol and LDL are quite high. The AHA/ACC has lowered the "alarm threshold" a few times now, but these numbers are definitely outside the guidelines regardless of which option you look at...

Kevin Garcia12 thanks so much... As a complete outsider here, I'm asking how many hours should I fast before a blood draw to get an accurate reading? In the meantime, I just remembered I had some French toast late in the afternoon the day before. Then, after hitting the gym around 11 PM, I had a protein shake (I had my blood drawn early the next morning)... Either way, I’ll have to redo the blood work.🙂
Hey everyone, looking for some help and your take on this.
I'm 45, 86 kg, and hit the gym occasionally. I was lifting weights and taking L-Carnitine the night before my blood draw. This morning, I got these results back, and a few things are high:

aspartate-aminotransferase - 37
alanine-aminotransferase - 68

Cholesterol - 6.9
LDL cholesterol - 4.6...
Everything else seems normal, though I'm dealing with a cold and allergic rhinitis right now, so I've been using Avamys spray....

thanks

Yeah, I am, but it wasn't exactly a smooth ride...

Sorry if this was already covered—I haven't scrolled through everything from the very beginning...
Ultraproct ointment works wonders (speaking from experience), so if you haven't tried it, give it a shot.
Good luck.

So, where can I actually pick up that ointment?

Chloe Gomez6 said:I’ve already started doing 2x1, so I’m sticking with it. Maybe one more after that. It helps. I can still feel them when I touch, but there's no pain, no itching, and no burning.

I know you can't be sure if you're cured for good (though I hope you are😁), but I was wondering about how things look? Can you see anything or feel anything abnormal? Are you able to wipe without being terrified after a bowel movement?

And as for food, I try to be careful. But when I'm out grabbing lunch somewhere, it feels silly to be overly cautious (or maybe that's just an excuse to pig out on the stuff I usually avoid😁).

Honestly, I don't remember ever using toilet paper and then immediately sprinting to the shower. If I'm out and it hits me, I just rush home. Since I go every three days, I usually know when it's coming and stay put—this whole situation definitely dictates my life.
It looks totally O.K. Not perfect, but I'm🙂

Chloe Gomez6 said:I finished one box and felt an improvement for the first time. They didn't disappear, but things got about 50% better. Since it was the weekend and I didn't feel like hitting the pharmacy, I took a three-day break (plus BBQ and bread😠=hard stools), and now I'm back at it😠.
Today I bought a new box and now I'm not sure if I should follow the instructions from the first box again or just take one in the morning and one at night🤷. I'm guessing the latter. I also picked up some Faktu suppositories to combine with it. I assume they can be used together. Honestly, I'm totally frustrated.

How did you treat yours? Did it clear up completely or just get better? Are you planning to keep taking them for prevention?

Time will tell if I've actually healed long-term or if this is just a few days of relief... either way, I'd suggest you restart that initial dose meant for acute inflammation—basically, start over from the beginning. Personally, the Faktu suppositories didn't do much for me... as far as diet goes, I made sure to eat plenty of oatmeal or grits, drank lots of fluids, and took herbal digestive tablets. 👍

I've continued taking Detralex as a preventative measure (twice a day) and once I finish this second box, I'll grab a third... then I'm hoping for peace for at least six months.

It looks like you repeated my mistake because that's exactly how I messed up a few months ago. I felt better, so I stopped the pills, relaxed my diet, and then the whole hell cycle started all over again.👎

I think it's vital to watch your diet both during treatment and moving forward.

Chloe Gomez6 said:Fine, I guess I'll just keep drinking that other one too, though 🤷.

Chloe Gomez6, have you managed to get your symptoms under control as of today?

Chloe Gomez6 said:So how’s the Detralex working for you? Is it actually doing anything? It’s not helping me much. Plus, I've got my period going on, so honestly, I can't even tell where the bleeding is coming from.🙄, feels like it's coming from everywhere.

I've already finished an entire box and I'm starting the second one (never thought I'd sink this much cash into my backside, between the $333 pills and the cream). The hemorrhoids have shrunk significantly and feel less swollen—they aren't hard anymore and the pain is gone. Just wondering how much longer I'll need to stay on Detralex before things go back to normal.

Chloe Gomez6 said:True, I get it. But mine aren't exactly catastrophic; they only show up when I'm using the bathroom and then they retreat. There’s no bleeding, just this burning itch and the occasional ache. It doesn't feel like surgery territory yet. I've been living like this for over a year now, and nothing is improving. No cream has helped. I started taking Detralex—had to stop breastfeeding first so I could take the pills—and I bled a little😢, but it was manageable. Now I'm stuck wondering if I should stick with it or quit. Sometimes I wish things were worse just so I'd have a clear reason to get the surgery. Otherwise, I'm just stuck in this limbo for life😢.

Mine have only bled twice in the last 16 years. Both times, once the bleeding stopped, everything felt better and they vanished for years. But this current situation? It’s a seven-month losing battle that’ll drive you insane😢. It’s honestly terrible. It goes so deep that I can't even be intimate with my husband without worrying😢. I'm always bracing for how much worse it'll feel afterward, and I worry he'll eventually get sick of both me and this whole mess😱.

boldheron7 said:Most of the time, Detralex works within a few days—seven at most. Anything beyond that is just for prevention.

I wouldn't say you've had any peace and quiet for long with Pilex.

Someone already mentioned that you... $200 They aren't returning them.

Might as well drop $100 on Detralex first. See if it actually works, then decide if it's O.K. to keep going.

Luckily, nothing down there actually burst.😉I finished off the last of the Pilex. All that's left is one HEMO about the size of a small pimple. Finally, I can stop crying.🤣 I’m still able to train normally for now. I started on Detralex. My doctor suggested taking two tablets three times a day for the first three days, then dropping down to one tablet three times a day. You're right about prevention, too—you should take another box of Detralex at one tablet a day. I'll let you know once this last one finally clears up. It's only day two of the Detralex.
They told me I’ll be fine in a year once I finish the Pilex. A few people who used it gave me that same timeline, and the pharmacist at the local CVS said I should definitely be O.K. in about six months.🤷Now I don't even know if that's actually how it works. Not everyone seemed to fully back off, and honestly, I just took a double dose of 14 Pilex pills, so now I'm feeling pretty skeptical myself.😕 That’s all there is to it.

rapidraven4 said:Hmm... I have some Detralex at home. A friend of mine who's a doctor gave them to me since she uses them herself. She swears by taking a full course...😉

Can I get these without a prescription??
...I know they aren't free, but I want to know if I can just walk into a pharmacy and grab them off the shelf.
Whatever, I'll go ask. If they say no, I'll figure out my next move...
What about Pilex?
Anyone here actually used it? 😕

I've been on Pilex for 10 days now. Honestly, the pain has been gone for about 4 days, and the hemorrhoids are finally shrinking😉. Usually, with ointments, the pain doesn't let up for 7 to 10 days, and then it takes forever for them to actually recede (I have external ones). Some people claim Pilex clears everything up in just 7 days, but my progress isn't quite that fast. If they aren't completely gone within 14 days, I'm switching to Detralex. I've declared war on them.😠 Also, you supposedly need to take Detralex for 90 days—three boxes total—to see final results, whereas Pilex is a 14-day thing, after which you should be 👍 good for a year.

boldheron7 said:Try Daflon. It’s actually registered as a medication for veins and hemorrhoids, unlike everything else which is just some supplement or dietary aid. Plus, it’s way cheaper than Viagra—honestly, it's under $33 for 30 tablets
.

Thanks, boldheron7. 👍If I take the Viagra and things don't clear up immediately, I'll switch over to yours.🙂

It’s honestly easier to deal with this when you see there are 26 pages worth of people talking about hemorrhoids... so here’s my small contribution. I work out three times a week and have no intention of stopping, even though doctors have been giving me a hard time about it for six months now, with just a one-month break. I used to exercise regularly before without any issues, so I’ve concluded that my digestion is just terrible—I go once every three days. After trying all those natural remedies and creams people suggest, including some stuff I ordered from Austria, I finally picked up some Viagra. It's overpriced as hell. I've taken seven tablets so far and plan to finish the full course of 14. In these first seven days, I can feel an improvement; the pain is gone and they seem slightly smaller. Once I finish the whole pack, I'll let you know the final verdict. The pharmacist recommended the Viagra, saying everyone raves about it. She also mentioned that if this doesn't work, surgery is probably inevitable. So, I'm taking these pills and praying to God I can avoid going under the knife.

There's no way I'm giving up my coffee.

My rig is actually decent. I've got 4GB of RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor clocked at 4.00 GHz, and an 8600 GT 512MB in a crossfire setup—which basically means I'm running dual graphics cards. Pretty beastly...👍👍👍👍
