Overclocking (Main Thread)

I'm currently running a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, 533 MHz, Prescott on an MSI 865PE NEO2-PFS motherboard, paired with 256MB of Apacer DDR RAM (PC3200, CL3.0 INF/SAM).
I’ve got a Cooler Master cooling this thing, but I’m planning on picking up a much better cooler and some extra memory very soon.
I want to know if overclocking is even an option here, what the actual process involves, and honestly, is it even worth the effort with this specific setup?
My brother has a Pentium 4 2.4 Northwood on a Gigabyte board with 512MB of DDR, and he's already pushed his clock speed up to 2.8...🙂
