If things go sideways, just reset the CMOS and try again. It's the same cycle until you eventually find the sweet spot for your CPU or GPU!

However, since my GPU cooler recently decided to bite the dust, I'm averaging somewhere between 66-75 degrees. There won't be any overclocking on my end until the replacement part arrives.

If only I knew why the cooling system failed in the first place 🙂 🙂 😕

I'm curious if there's any room to push this rig a bit further through overclocking.

CPU: Intel Celeron D socket 478 2.8GHz / 533MHz FSB / 256KB L2 cache (stock cooler)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT Ultra AGP / 128MB / 128-bit bus / 525MHz-950MHz
RAM: 2x 1GB Kingmax DDR / PC3200 (400MHz) in dual channel
PSU: 500W ATX2
+4 additional case fans

Currently, I’ve been steadily overclocking the CPU to 3.0GHz and the GPU from 527MHz up to 1100MHz (the memory can actually hit 1250MHz, but things start getting a bit too hot at that point).
I’d love to squeeze out a little more performance, but I’m hesitant about whether it's safe to push it further. I'm looking for some advice from those with more experience in this area. 🙂
