Oh, don't give me that nonsense.
The 3000+ runs at 1.8 GHz by default.
That means we're talking about 600 MHz, which is barely a third of the speed. It's pathetic.

Look, I’ll be the first to admit it: when it comes to overclocking, I am a complete amateur. I’m looking for some serious help or at least some basic guidelines to follow...
Here is my current setup:
Mobo: ASrock AM2XLI-ESATA2/soc.AM2
CPU: Intel Athlon 64 3000+ S.AM2 box
RAM: 512MB DDR2 PC667 takeMS CL5 (2 sticks)
So, here is what I’m stuck on:😁 When I'm in the BIOS, should I be messing with the FSB or the HTT?
(From what I gather, bumping up the FSB also cranks up the speed of the PCI and PCIe ports, which could mess with my graphics card, whereas the HTT wouldn't affect them.)
If I decide to tweak the FSB, what should I set the PCI and PCIe speeds to? And if I go the HTT route, should I just leave those other settings on automatic?
My memory is rated at 667, which means 333. Do I need to dial that back?
Also, I really need some guidance regarding latency.
I'm aiming to push this thing up to 2.4GHz (for now).
Right now, it's sitting at 2.2GHz and it seems to be running fine, though I haven't actually sat down to run any stability tests yet...
