A buddy of mine was messing around with it. I don't know the first thing about overclocking, and apparently, he’s no expert either. He might end up bricking the whole thing.
So, a buddy of mine was messing around yesterday and bumped his clock speed up to 3.33 GHz. He had the memory at 1000 and set the CPU voltage to 1.6V plus an extra 0.2V for the RAM. The PC booted, but then just froze right in the middle of running 3DMark. Later, he tried pushing it to 3.5 GHz with 1.8V, saved the settings, and then the whole thing wouldn't even POST—it would just power on and immediately shut down. I had to kill the power, try again, and eventually pull the CMOS battery just to reset everything. I guess there goes my warranty.
Alright, I'll try swapping that out and let you know how it goes.
Here's the shot.

Yeah, I did. Managed to bump it up to 3GHz. The only thing is, whenever I switch the system voltage to manual, I keep getting that "voltages are not optimized" warning, but if I leave it on auto, it seems fine. Anyway, I'll post some screenshots of my settings in a bit so you guys can take a look.
Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a shot and let you guys know how it goes.
Just got a new rig and I'm thinking about doing a bit of overclocking. If anyone’s got the patience to walk me through what settings I should tweak in the BIOS, I’d really appreciate it. Specs are in my signature, and here’s a shot of the BIOS overclocking menu. Any idea how much headroom I actually have here?
