Overclocking (Main Thread)
in Desktops ·
Hey there.
So, I’m in the market for a new PC, and I've got this itch to try my hand at overclocking.
Since I’ve never actually messed with voltage or clock speeds before, I was wondering if any kind soul out there would be willing to walk me through the process.
Just a heads-up; I’ve spent plenty of time lurking on PC Gamer reading up on all the theory, but for my first time, I’d really appreciate someone to guide me step-by-step—or maybe even just shoot me an email with a solid procedure.
If I can find someone patient enough to help with that... I’ll probably also need some advice on which processor to pull the trigger on. I’m currently torn between an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 or the E6750.
One more thing: do you think I should invest in a decent aftermarket cooler, or is the stock one going to cut it?
Feel free to reply here or just hit me up via private message.
Thanks in advance, you wonderful people.
By the way: Happy New Year 2008!
