Alright, finally sorted out that BIOS headache—I've been digging through my PC all day trying to play hero and fix it, but turns out the clock was just totally off. Had to sync everything up and get the date and time set correctly 🙄😁. Now, about this overclocking issue... does anyone actually know how to tackle this? It’s clearly tied to the clock speed because once I push past 2.72 GHz, the internet just dies, even though everything else seems fine 😕

So, here’s the deal: back in the day, whenever I tried overclocking, my MSN Messenger would just totally freak out and stop working—even if Internet Explorer would pull up whatever I was searching for, trying to load specific sites would just fail. But the second I dialed things back down to 2.66 or 2.72 GHz, everything would snap right back to normal. It happened a hundred times, honestly. Now, I’ve run into a whole new headache that’s kind of related—I just updated the BIOS, and now my MSN won't work at all. To make matters worse, my idiot brother actually reached in and popped the CMOS battery out of the motherboard while the PC was still open... could that be part of the problem?

So I've run into a bit of a snag here😛I'm running a Core 2 Duo E6750 on an ASUS P5KPL motherboard—everything seems totally fine and runs smooth under normal loads, but whenever I try to push the overclock past 2.72GHz—say, up to 2.93GHz—it holds steady even under full load, but my internet connection just goes completely haywire.
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Hey guys, so I was messing around in my BIOS yesterday—mostly because I saw some guy on YouTube overclocking the exact same processor I have—so I tried bumping the frequency up to 400 and... yeah, total disaster. My PC just shut down and wouldn't even attempt to boot back up for a solid hour. When it finally did kick back to life, it gave me that annoying error saying I needed to change my BIOS settings, so I just set everything back to Auto. Now, when I run OCCT and Core Temp
I noticed one of my cores is hitting 98% usage while the other one is just chilling at maybe 15-30%. Why is it doing that? Both of them used to run at 100% all the time before this mess.

- So, here's the thing, I've got this ASUS PA010-8LB4W cooler—well, mine has a copper base, that part that actually touches the CPU, you know?

Actually, this isn't even my specific model, it's just a photo of one, but it has a round fan instead of a square one, and those fins are curved, whereas on my ASUS they're totally flat.

I know I'm probably talking a bunch of nonsense here, but bear with me, I'm just venting!

So I finally hooked up that Jupy thing to the fourth fan slot, and man, what a difference—my temps are sitting at a chill 42 now, whereas they used to spike all the way up to 60 like crazy

So, I was wondering—which one of these is actually worth grabbing? Between the Cooler Master MasterAir series for socket 775 and the Cooler Master MasterAir series for socket 478, which one do you think performs better?

So, does anyone here from the Los Angeles area know a decent computer shop they can recommend? I used to hit up a place called Nexus, but those guys totally ripped me off—well, they actually just shut down, so I haven't found a reliable spot since then. Also, I'm looking at some 4-video setups or whatever... I can't even remember the name of that thing you use to attach the cooler, but I'm struggling to get one to fit. I'm wondering if that might be why my temps are hitting the roof lately.

The temps are probably spiking because—well, I was actually mid-way through stripping down my cooling setup—and honestly, who knows how much of that thermal paste is even left sitting between the heatsink and the CPU right now...

Look, I'll just bite the bullet and grab a new fridge if I really have to—no biggie. It’s just that those programs you sent me in that link... man, they aren't doing much. When I run those load tests, the temp climbs up to 68 after a little while, but once it finally settles down and takes a breather 🙂 it's sitting at 42
