So, I did a quick search on Google for an NVIDIA Control Panel download, scrolled through some sites until I hit Softpedia, and grabbed the installer from there. But here’s the kicker—the moment I tried to run it, these massive blue squares just popped up right in the middle of my screen, and then the whole system just gave up and rebooted on me. For context, I'm running Windows Vista Business on this machine.
So, I went ahead and installed ATI Tray Tools, but now whenever I actually try to launch the program, my PC just shuts down completely. I’ve tried this three separate times now, and the result is always the same—just a total system shutdown. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this kind of instability?
Does anyone happen to know where I might stumble upon a decent tutorial for overclocking a graphics card? (Specifically, I'm looking at a 4850 paired with a Zalman cooler.) Also, does the RAM speed automatically scale up when you start pushing the CPU overclock?
