It’s honestly like seeing a solar eclipse; I never thought I'd witness such a rare phenomenon.😲😲😲
stormybadger8 said:True, having Newey’s car definitely made his life a whole lot easier.👍

Even so, Horner’s been pulling tactical moves quite well so far.
Keeping Vettel and Webber from burning through their final set of tires in Q3 and making sure they didn't charge like idiots for that points advantage—which isn't even as huge as people claim—was smart work.😉

If he'd let them pull that kind of nonsense, the car wouldn't have saved him; he would've trashed the race before it even started.☕

On that front, he's actually been solid this season. It honestly surprises me that his strategy is holding its own against the McLaren crew.

There was this one moment during Q3 where I genuinely thought Vettel was gearing up to snag pole, but then it looks like he listened to Horner's input and backed off.
Is Nick Heidfeld going to be starting from the pit lane, or is he just stuck at the very back of the grid?

After reading this article, everything clicks. In today’s world, aerodynamics is basically a religion! You can't just roll into the season with a few tiny tweaks and hope the competition accidentally naps through winter break. Everyone else shaved off half a second per lap, while Ferrari actually fell behind by two tenths (looking at you, Alonso). And don't even get me started on Massa—it’s his second year being a total mismatch for a powerhouse like Ferrari. Honestly, if Alonso manages to grab a podium, it’ll be a freaking miracle. By the time Ferrari catches up to the pack, it’ll be way too late because Vettel already has a massive head start. They're basically just middle-of-the-pack now. Objectively, they’re sitting in fourth place, trailing significantly behind Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes. If it weren't for Alonso, Ferrari wouldn't even crack the top seven. All this hype surrounding Ferrari is honestly laughable—I mean, Alonso finishing fourth in qualifying? A team like this should be hunting wins, not scavenging for the crumbs everyone else leaves behind. Personally, regardless of what Alonso does or how bad Massa is, they might as well just start designing the 2012 car right now. By the time they catch the leaders, they'll be down by 150 points. While they were busy obsessing over perfecting their KERS system, Red Bull used their 40% functional KERS setup to absolutely shred the competition like a meat grinder.

Most of what was said hits the nail on the head, though I have to push back on the idea that Ferrari should abandon everything to focus on the 2012 car right now.

If we look back at 2009, Ferrari pulled the plug on developing the F60 after only three or four races to start focusing on 2010.

That move didn't exactly pay off, since they ended up starting the 2010 season lagging significantly behind Red Bull.

And as for them acting all excited about grabbing fourth place? That really just exposes their own mindset—it's that classic case of complacency that seems to have taken root over in Maranello.
Well, I suppose they have to put on a bit of a show to keep the sponsors happy and satisfy Alonso's fan club.
It looks like Alonso is taking the lead!😲😲😲
Man, I’m really feeling nostalgic thinking about legends like Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Räikkönen, and Kobayashi.☕

I suspect we’re in for quite a show this year—plenty of those signature heroic stunts from Alonso—and honestly, he and the Ferrari crew certainly have a flair for the dramatic—but at the end of the day, all that spectacle won't actually change the final results. 😁

Signature.

So, are you just trying to build an alibi for when Ferrari inevitably chokes?

Nah, honestly, I’m actually pretty stoked with how Fernando handled things.☕

Well, you aren't moving an inch from that opinion, are you?🤣
I guess you can just sit back and enjoy another crushing defeat heading the Ferrari way.😁
darkmarlin16 said:If they hadn't banned that new rear wing on us, we’d be right on the tail of those Red Bull guys, maybe only half a second back☕

Are you basically acting as my legal defense if Ferrari decides to completely fall apart on race day?
cosmicridge5 said:Anyway, Alonso is killing it, so people can deal with it if they want. 🙂 😁

A perfect lap. He’s basically pulling miracles out of that car at this point; honestly, it was almost a miracle he didn't take out an ExxonMobil truck on the track today. 🙏 Once our car actually gets sorted out, you guys might want to start worrying. 😍 Just my two cents for all the haters out there. 😁

Yeah, sure, if you say so.

If Alonso really was pushing that car to its absolute breaking point, then that’s actually a pretty bad sign for his future.
Being barely over a second behind Red Bull isn't exactly the massive leap forward people are making it out to be.

Keep crying, Ferrari fans.

By the way, do you even know how long a mile actually is? Or how much distance a car covers in just ten seconds on average?

And nice call by steelmaker83 calling them "haters".
People are spending way too much energy obsessing over Alonso finishing fourth, mocking him instead of acknowledging any actual progress. It's like they think his position is some massive catastrophe. Instead of worrying about Alonso, maybe focus on the Red Bull dominance.
And why isn't anyone talking about Webber's number one status? Who's actually going to take the lead into the first turn tomorrow?

First off, let's talk about Alonso squeezing himself between those McLarens.
You have to realize we're talking about thousandths of a second here—both in front and behind. In terms of time, it's negligible, but for track position, it's huge.
In recent races, Alonso hasn't really gained anything from his starts; he tends to play it safe, which I'm totally fine with.
That's why a better starting position matters for a single spot. Especially on a track like this.
The Ferrari looks strong and capable in the early stages. We've seen both McLaren and Ferrari pull off overtakes on the Red Bulls before, even under this year's conditions. So, there's no reason to be a total pessimist right out of the gate.

What I’d really love to see is someone from the second row dive in and wedge themselves among the Red Bulls. Since Webber has a habit of messing up his starts, a lucky break could theoretically put someone right into the fight for the lead. I don't think that's a pipe dream. That's when we'll see the real hierarchy.

Save the doom and gloom for the last quarter of the race—or for after the podium ceremony, assuming Red Bull predictably cruises to another win.

Edit: One important thing—how much distance is there to the first corner? I just hope it's not some tiny 100-meter stretch like we saw in Turkey.

Well, look at this hater right here.☕ 😁

When you consider that the Ferrari is significantly faster under racing conditions with Alonso behind the wheel, finishing fourth is actually a fantastic result.

Given that Ricciardo is still the weak link at Red Bull and Hamilton is driving like a man possessed, I'm expecting a wild scramble heading into that first corner.
Alonso is definitely going to give it 120 percent to deliver a podium finish for his fans and, realistically, push hard enough to even contend for the win.

It's the perfect setup for a showdown between Alonso and Lewis.😁 🙂
Vettel and then a Red Bull 1-2 finish.
Chloe Walker3 said:Man, listening to that Ferrari team radio was just... pure comedy. Someone please, for the love of God, tell him he’s actually faster than everyone else and not just beating Massa. It’s honestly hilarious hearing them play it cool like, "Hey, don't sweat it, just focus on your own race..."

☕

That’s really the only thing they’ve got going for them.
steelmaker83 said:What's the deal with you haters? Is winning a championship really that hard for you to swallow?

It’s honestly driving me up the wall.☕
gentlebear47 said:Kovalainen's position might look underwhelming, but honestly, props to him for grabbing 15th.🙂

Barrichello had a gearbox failure.👍

To be fair, if Heidfeld had actually been able to race, we’d probably be looking at a 16th place finish, but hey, at least they're making progress.

Dealing with the gearboxes at Williams this season has been an absolute nightmare, like trying to fix a broken engine in a thunderstorm.
At least watching Maldonado was the bright spot that saved my day.
Watching Kovalainen hold down 15th in that Lotus is actually pretty impressive.👋
He’s really the only one from the newcomers who seems to be making steady progress right out of the gate.

Looks like Nick's going to have his hands full with a mountain of work tomorrow.

Maldonado finally proved he’s doing more than just driving around for the sponsors at Williams.
I’m honestly crossing my fingers that this isn't just a one-hit wonder performance.

What on earth happened with Barrichello? I totally missed Q1.
Michael Lee4 said:Red Bull still isn't even touching the KERS 🤣

It’s almost like they’re waiting for us all to die before they finally decide to tune up that KERS setup,
and honestly, seeing them absolutely demolish everyone else during qualifying is just wild.
Everything played out exactly how you'd expect.
Red Bull was totally dominant, though I think Hamilton might be the only one who can actually give them a run for their money during tomorrow's race.
Alonso looks dangerous too, especially since Ferrari seems to have found that extra gear when it comes to race pace.
As for Button, he just wasn't even in the conversation today. Petrov did pretty much what you'd expect given his car, but Rosberg left me feeling a little let down.

Massa was nearly a full second behind Alonso,🙄which really says everything you need to know about where they stand right now.
We’ll just have to wait and see if Schumacher’s tactical maneuvering actually pays off in the end.

Maldonado was honestly impressive considering the kind of machine he's fighting with.🙂
Did they end up disabling Nico Rosberg's car?
And there we go, it’s finally started.
But man, the commercials are hitting me like a tidal wave already.
Good grief.
