Assisted living or home care?

My husband and I have been thinking about opening an assisted living facility—we’ve got this massive house sitting there just waiting to be put to use, though we know we'd need to take out a pretty substantial loan to get things up to code.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the government offers any subsidies or grants for this kind of thing, and more importantly, does anyone actually have a roadmap for where to start or what kind of paperwork is required to get licensed?
