Chest day and rib cage issues in Health ·
My buddy and I were playing soccer today when he took his shirt off because of the heat...I noticed his ribcage is actually thicker than his lower abdomen if he sucks his stomach in. I can't imagine what would happen if he lost weight; he’d just end up with this wide chest that casts a shadow over a tiny waist, which looks pretty awkward.

Any advice? He's actually pretty curious about this.

He probably should. Depends on his body fat percentage.

He’s dieting now and leaning out a bit. He’s about 5'7" and 165 lbs. Doesn't really exercise, so he's carrying some extra weight.

I mentioned before that I was starting a gym routine... I’ve been at it for a few months now and the progress has been great.🙂

Now my buddy—who's a bit on the heavier side—has realized the gym isn't a chore, it's actually fun. I've shared everything I know with him, but he has one specific question. He's about 5'7" with a broad chest (around 37-39 inches). If he loses weight and tones up his chest muscles, will his ribcage size decrease?
😕
