Hey everyone,
I’m not entirely sure if this fits the specific topic of this thread, but I really need some perspective from anyone who has dealt with something similar.
Basically, my boyfriend has started using cocaine—I noticed it, and now I’m desperate to help him, both for our sake and because of the environment he's surrounding himself with.
His parents, along with everyone else close to him, just refuse to see it; they won't admit their kid has a serious problem.
His friends have tried talking sense into him, but it's useless. When he's high, he acts like the center of the universe, like everything revolves around him. When his buddies try to bring it up, his only response is, "Man, being on coke feels amazing!" He thinks having cocaine in his hand makes him the king of the night. He’s part of the 12th Man fan group, and honestly, it seems like 99% of them are constantly on coke or speed..
To make matters worse, his best friend is a former professional athlete who turned into a dealer. He’s been feeding my boyfriend this line about how great it all is, and unfortunately, he’s bought into it. This actually led to them reconciling after my guy called him a complete loser and a disgrace to America. Now, they talk every single day. The friend smuggles drugs, and I am terrified my boyfriend is going to fall completely under his influence. This guy is a manipulator, a thief, and a total wreck; he had everything going for him and gambled it all away. Now, he’s fully immersed in the drug trade. He is such a toxic influence because whenever he's around, my boyfriend's whole persona changes to, "Who cares what anyone thinks? I'm on coke and I'm the man!"

He even claims that all professional athletes are on some kind of drugs, so he views his own habit as totally normal. He’s spending more and more time in Miami because he supposedly has a plug there who is also a huge fan and goes to every single game with him. This dealer of his looks down on anyone who lives a normal life or holds down a decent job. His only goal is to move product, and he’d probably sell drugs to his own mother if there was enough money in it for him.
I am convinced that his best friend and this dealer—who pretends to be this amazing mentor and buddy—are the ones driving him down this path. If it weren't for them, he’d be perfectly fine. How can I pull him away from these people?

Everyone in his inner circle who uses drugs presents it to him as something awesome and standard, so he believes them. People who actually know him can see he isn't the same person anymore; he’s constantly looking for an excuse to slip away to the restroom just to take a hit.
He’s fallen victim to this peer pressure culture where he thinks the pinnacle of life is being high and acting wild at Hard Rock Stadium. How do I distance him from that scene? And from the drugs themselves? Does anyone here have experience with this, or know a specialist who could actually help me navigate this mess?
The thing is, he has a good job, but he spends his entire paycheck on drugs. He’s not a manual laborer; he works as an analyst and claims his job is incredibly high-stress, so he treats cocaine as his "relaxation" method. Do you think I should go to his parents or his sister to talk? Honestly, though, I feel like they’ll just label me as crazy or dramatic before they ever believe their son is facing a genuine crisis and needs intervention. Does anyone have advice on how to approach him? It's hard to get through when he's stuck in this delusional loop where he thinks everything is perfect while he's high.
Please, I need any advice or comments you can give. I want to help him as much as I can, but I feel completely helpless. It’s like my hands are tied, and I can't stand watching him destroy himself right in front of me. I haven't slept properly in months because of this, and I just want to resolve this as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for any response!
Best,

Hey everyone,
I’m not entirely sure if this fits the specific topic of this thread, but I really need some perspective from anyone who has dealt with a situation similar to mine.
Basically, my boyfriend has started using cocaine. I noticed it, and now I’m desperate to help him—for his sake, for our relationship, and because of the environment he’s surrounding himself with.
His parents, along with basically everyone else close to him, refuse to see it. They just won't acknowledge that their son actually has a serious problem.
His friends have tried talking to him, but it hasn't worked. When he's high, he acts like the center of the universe, like everything revolves around him. Whenever his buddies try to stage an intervention, his only response is, "Man, being on coke feels amazing!" He genuinely believes that having cocaine in his system makes him the king of the night. To make matters worse, he's part of the 12th Man fan group, and it seems like 99% of them are constantly on coke or speed...
Then there's his best man. This guy used to be a professional athlete, but now he's completely turned to dealing. He’s been feeding my boyfriend this narrative that it's all part of the lifestyle, and unfortunately, my boyfriend is buying it hook, line, and sinker. It's actually caused them to reconnect after my boyfriend previously called him a complete loser and a disgrace to America. Now, they talk every single day. The best man is smuggling drugs, and I am terrified my boyfriend is going to fall completely under his influence. This guy is a manipulator, a thief, and a total wreck; he had everything going for him and blew it all. Now, he's fully committed to the drug trade. He is a toxic influence, because whenever he's around, my boyfriend changes—it's like, "Who cares what anyone thinks? I'm on coke, I'm the man!"

He even claims that all professional athletes are on various drugs, so he views his own habit as totally normal. He’s spending more and more time in Miami because he supposedly has a dealer there who is also a fellow fan, and they go to every single game together. This dealer looks down on anyone who lives a regular life or holds down a decent job. Honestly, the guy would probably sell drugs to his own mother if it meant making a quick buck.
I am convinced that both the best man and this dealer—who pretends to be this great friend and a "good guy"—are the primary reasons he's spiraling. If it weren't for them, he'd be a perfectly normal person. How can I pull him away from this crowd?

Everyone in his inner circle treats it like it's no big deal, which only reinforces his belief that it's fine. People who know him can see he isn't the same person anymore; he spends half his time slipping away to the restroom just to take a hit.
He's completely succumbed to peer pressure and thinks the ultimate goal in life is being high and acting wild at Hard Rock Stadium. How do I get him away from that scene? And how do I get him off the drugs? Does anyone here have experience with this, or can you recommend a specialist who might actually be able to help me navigate this?
He has a good job, but he pours his entire paycheck into his addiction. He isn't an athlete; he works as an accountant and insists his job is incredibly stressful, so he uses cocaine as his way to "unwind." Do you think I should approach his parents or maybe his sister? Though, honestly, I feel like they'll just label me as crazy or dramatic before they ever believe their son is facing a genuine crisis and needs help. Does anyone have advice on how to talk to him? He's so deep in this mindset that he truly believes it's great; he isn't thinking straight because he's always high.
Please, I need any advice or comments you can give. I want to help him as much as I possibly can, but I feel completely helpless. My hands are tied, and I can't stand watching him destroy himself right in front of me. I haven't slept properly in months because of this, and I just want to resolve this as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for any response!
Best regards!
