Some things are just dealbreakers. First up, Emma Watson... Then there’s the obvious targeting of kids under ten... stripping characters of their core traits and replacing them with stuff that doesn't matter, which pretty much sums up the entire plot too... forcing in a romance where there isn't one, or ditching the serious themes just in a desperate attempt to make the movies "funny"... maybe that won't bother the casual moviegoers, but for us—the die-hard book fans—those details are everything. Luckily, the books aren't going anywhere.

Then you've got the obvious targeting of kids under ten... stripping characters of their actual essence and highlighting stuff that doesn't matter at all—which pretty much describes the whole plot... forcing a romance where there isn't one, or cutting out the serious themes just because they're desperately trying to make the movies "funny"... It might not bother the casual moviegoer, but for us—the die-hard fans of Books Books and always Books—these are the absolute essentials. Luckily, the books are always there.
