My mother underwent surgery just a week ago to remove a massive 10 kg tumor along with five liters of fluid. They had to remove her uterus, ovaries, and a section of her large intestine, even though the initial diagnosis suggested the tumor originated in the ovaries. The entire procedure lasted six hours, yet she is recovering quite remarkably. The doctors seem incredibly pleased with the outcome, though they did have to fit her with a colostomy bag; we are all still reeling from the shock of that, but I truly hope it isn't a permanent fixture. She will be starting chemotherapy soon. She is 57 years old, and I pray to God that she can navigate through all of this. The pathology results confirmed it was a malignant carcinoma.
Fellow forum members, I am desperately seeking some guidance here! My mother is currently battling extensive tumors. She has one large mass on her right ovary, along with two smaller ones, and there is also a tumor on her stomach measuring about 25x25 cm. As of now, her liver, pancreas, kidneys, and intestines appear to be okay. Her white blood cell count was at 16 this past Friday, but it shot up to 250 just yesterday. She also had her tumor markers tested; one came back at 87, and the other was at 456. Please, if anyone can offer any insight or help, I need it as soon as possible.
