Well... it’s over... it’s finally over!!! It’s just pure horror, sadness, and pain filling my entire life right now; Mom passed away on July 31st at 4:30 PM in her living room. Honestly, we owe everything to my sister—she’s an anesthesiologist, so she made sure we moved Mom there because three days ago she started struggling to breathe due to fluid in her lungs, and thanks to her expertise, we got her to a place where she could get the absolute best care possible. We were right there by her side the whole time, praying for her, but... maybe... I mean, I stayed an optimist until the very end even though you could see physically that there was no coming back, but her heart... man, her heart was such a fighter, beating so bravely until the last moment... I just sat there staring like a fool at that damn monitor showing the heart rate, praying every single second, and God knows I truly believed things would take a turn for the better, but the pulse was sitting at 40/20 and then it just vanished, and a pulse that had been at 70 just plummeted to 0 in five seconds and her heart just stopped. That heart, even if I sound annoying or foolish right now, it’s what kept both my sister and me going through all those terrible years when we didn't know where we'd be tomorrow or how we'd put food on the table after Dad died. This heart, it worked for us, especially for me after the war, it kept pushing right up until 18 months ago when we found out Mom had cancer. And in these last 18 months, Mom actually got one grandchild from my sister and one from me... little grandsons. They’re still here, looking toward her room, glancing in and then walking past, all confused, because in their tiny little heads, there's this one person who always entertained them, made them laugh, and loved them so much. They turn around when they walk past the room, kind of like how a person turns around when they think they dropped something, just checking to see if it really happened or not. To everyone here on this forum, I truly, deeply hope things get better for you, and I just want to offer one piece of advice—if nothing else, if only for my sake—as soon as you possibly can, go hug your loved ones, whether it's your father or your mother, it doesn't matter, just hug them tight, because this... this is so heavy that my hands are actually shaking, so please, everyone who ever listened to my heart at any point, just listen...

I really hope you’re able to stay somewhere with some decent AC.
Honestly, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve thanked God for that machine... I truly think my mom wouldn't have made it without it.
Aside from that, things have taken a pretty significant turn for the worse. She’s been dealing with these intense headaches, and eating has become such an ordeal... just the other day, it took me over an hour and fifteen minutes just to get her to eat anything, and she kept pushing all the meat to the side of the plate... I didn't realize what was happening and she almost started choking, which was terrifying. I had to quickly clear everything out of her mouth with my fingers, but in the middle of it all, she bit down on my finger so hard I actually saw stars for a second. It’s just... it's incredibly bad. She sleeps constantly now, barely ever opens her eyes... I can't help but feel like a coma might be right around the corner.
I’m back too—it’s been a long time, really quite a while, ever since Mom’s condition started sliding... her hemoglobin levels were dangerously low, sitting somewhere around 50, so we took her in for a transfusion. She received it, but now the doctors are scratching their heads because her platelets have plummeted to barely 40... we brought her home and she seems a little more stable for now. Mostly, she can only handle purees or liquids, and her eyes stay closed most of the time... that's why I specifically wanted to reply to your comment, because the symptoms—especially this constant sleeping part—are identical to what we're seeing. We started giving her that BioBran we picked up in Washington, D.C., from that macrobiotic specialist over on Fifth Avenue... it’s about 10 bucks for a pack of 10, so keep that in mind if you're looking into it. Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see... last night she was moaning in pain, so we gave her the Trodon the doctors prescribed. I don't know, maybe she is approaching a coma too, but when I was massaging her and talking about all the things we’re going to do once she wakes up and "gets better," she suddenly opened her eyes wide... it almost looked like a smile to me. Eventually, I just sang some songs from her era to her, and she drifted back off. Ufffffff, sometimes I feel like I'm just going to snap!
How is everyone doing? Hope things are okay on your end!

I’m so sorry to hear things have taken a turn for the worse, but honestly, there could be so many different factors contributing to her condition... Just stay persistent and push for them to redo any tests that might actually point toward something meaningful. Don't lose hope; just keep fighting for her and for your kids, so they can all be there for one another.
It’s just that I have no idea how I’m supposed to get those tests done when she’s in constant pain and barely able to move... I just can't keep pushing her like this every single day,
Hey everyone, I’ve been away for a while—not by choice, really, but because things were finally looking up for Mom, though just four days ago everything took a turn for the worse again. After her brain surgery, we brought her home to focus on the Temozolide and physical therapy, and just when I thought we were hitting our stride and ready to ramp up the exercises, she started choking... it was terrifying, she was crying out so loudly... now she’s on a constant dose of Trodon, at least according to her doctor... I honestly don't know what's happening, maybe it's metastases now, or maybe something else entirely, I just can't tell anymore... it's all so heavy, and I find myself spiraling, wondering what the point of any of this is, losing someone so young at thirteen, and now, just when Mom was finally supposed to start making memories with her grandkids, this happens, it feels like one thing after another. It isn't that I'm questioning whether good and evil exist, it's just that I can't wrap my head around why the hardest hits always seem to land on the best people.
The way these doses of Trodon have hit her... it’s left her in this state of total disorientation, if you can even call it that, where it’s almost impossible to establish any kind of connection with her, just... it's devastating.

Angela Wright said:I suppose, looking at everything, I can just say "thank God my own mess turned out alright."🙂 She’ll pull through, though it’s going to take some serious time and grit, but I get the sense that won't be much of an issue for you guys.
Man, I wish... if only I could breathe a sigh of relief like that myself...😳
Apologize if I'm being a bit of a nuisance here, but what exactly is going on? 🙂

Secondly, I’ve honestly never been one to frequent these kinds of online communities, but life has a way of forcing your hand and pushing you toward things you never expected...
Basically, my mother was diagnosed with cancer exactly eighteen months ago, and while the doctors were pushing standard chemotherapy, my family and Mom decided to head over to the Macron clinic in Washington, D.C. to follow their specific treatment protocols instead. Everything seemed to be going relatively smoothly until about six months ago when she started having this intense pain around her spine—we thought maybe it was just a setback, and the ultrasound did show some tumor tissue pressing against her kidneys, showing the right side was completely compromised though the left looked fine, so we stayed hopeful. But everything was actually okay until JUST YESTERDAY!!! I was sitting at work when she called from home, sounding panicked because she had fallen in the kitchen and couldn't get back up on her right leg, and then later that night, her right arm just gave out on her too, it was absolutely terrifying!!! Nobody can make sense of what's happening, so we rushed her to the local medical center this morning to figure out the damage. If anyone here has dealt with anything remotely similar, please, I am begging you to reach out and let me know if you have any idea what on earth is going on...
Thank you all so much beforehand
So, today marks exactly one week since the tragedy hit our family, and the official test results confirmed it was indeed a stroke... I genuinely thought I had lost my mother; for those first four days, I couldn't even speak to her, and nobody could really talk to her either, which apparently is just how it goes with strokes, but I just refused to let her sink into that darkness, so I made a choice to sing... and SHE SANG!!! She sang like she was back in the golden days of her life, fully conscious and somehow joyful, as if saying that if speech is gone, music will take its place. I kept massaging her helpless right leg and arm—I don't even know where that impulse came from—but while she was drifting in that half-sleep state, feeling so isolated by everything that had happened, I just said, "Mom, come on, let's sing together!"... she opened her eyes and we started on her favorite old song, that one about the golden leaf of love... it's the same song she used to sing with my late father (yeah, I lost him when I was only thirteen), and there was just this unspoken connection between us. Now, every single morning before heading to work, my sister and I go to her side to do the same, and we do it again in the evenings; we're giving it everything we've got, because she certainly did everything for us once. Then yesterday, Sunday, she woke up and told us she feels like her speech is coming back, and I still can't quite wrap my head around it, even though this past week has been the absolute worst stretch of my life, though I haven't let anyone see it...
Angela Wright said:The tests should eventually clear things up and show if there's a neurological component involved, which is definitely a possibility... just try to hang in there until the results come back, because all this worrying ahead of time about what it might be—especially considering my mom's medical history—it's really not helping anyone, and honestly, it could turn out to be anything at all.
Stay strong, you can do this😳
I was actually thinking along those same lines myself, but I figured I’d reach out somewhere just to get it off my chest, so if it does turn out to be something, maybe I'll feel a bit more grounded... anyway, thank you so much for the support, it really means a lot.🙂

Anyway, my mother was diagnosed with cancer exactly a year and a half ago. The doctors initially prescribed her standard chemotherapy, but our family—and Mom included—decided to go see Makronov in Chicago instead to follow their specific treatment protocols. For the most part, everything seemed to be going fine, at least until about six months ago when she started having this intense pain around her spine. We thought we knew what was happening, especially since the ultrasound showed the tumorous tissue pressing against her kidneys, and while her left side stayed okay, the right side had completely deteriorated... But everything was actually holding steady until JUST YESTERDAY!!! I was sitting at work when she called me from home, sounding frantic, saying she’d fallen in the kitchen and simply couldn't get back up on her right leg, and then later that night, her right arm just gave out on her too, it was absolutely terrifying!!! Nobody seems to know what’s actually going on, so we rushed her over to the Mayo Clinic this morning to get some answers. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? If you have, please, I’m begging you, reach out and let me know what on earth is happening here...
