Issues powering an extra fan

So, here is my current situation: I have a Dell OptiPlex desktop that I am planning to perform some serious case modding on. I managed to pick up a fan that should provide some decent cooling, and my intention is to mount it directly onto the motherboard. However, I have run into a significant hurdle.
The issue is that this machine is incredibly compact; everything inside is packed in with zero breathing room, built down to the absolute millimeter. I remember how much of a struggle it was just trying to squeeze in an extra hard drive recently. To make matters worse, the power supply doesn't have any spare cables available to hook up a fan. The motherboard is a Dell OptiPlex 7000 series.
I did stumble upon some information online suggesting I could convert the connection to USB, but honestly, that feels like far too much unnecessary complexity for what I am trying to achieve. Does anyone have a more practical solution?
