Best outdoor Wi-Fi adapter and antenna?

So, here’s the situation.
I am currently in desperate need of an adapter to pick up a Wi-Fi signal from my neighbor.
My laptop’s built-in receiver is frankly pathetic; it barely catches even one or two bars of signal, which is just unacceptable for anything remotely productive. I think what I really need is an adapter equipped with an external antenna to actually pull something usable out of the air. If anyone could be so kind as to drop a link to a decent product, I would truly appreciate it.
