The reality is that we used to have much deeper film experts posting here. Setting aside what kind of user someone is, just think back to Media Blitz, Pacifist, Mabuse (who ended up getting banned), I think Red f was the one asking for a ban, and then there were others like Lou, Androlog, Familia, Terry Scott34, and a few more. They aren't posting as much now simply because Today's PDF has declined in quality. As someone who tries to stay neutral, I see it clearly, and I know plenty of silent readers who agree. Even you are an interesting contributor to this forum; you watch such a wide variety of movies and write engaging reviews, even if that crowd gives you a hard time sometimes. 😁
Today's PDF is absolutely saturated with blockbusters, which I don't necessarily mind—they can be good—but there are just way too many mainstream themes dominating the space now. We’re missing that deep, high-quality cinematic content. It has shrunk significantly.
All those people I mentioned are true connoisseurs of cinema history. And calling that out isn't about being a film snob. In fact, it's the current crop of users who earn that label by refusing to accept any criticism. Let's be real: receiving a critique shouldn't be something that shakes your entire world.
