I have a Dell Inspiron 15 that I’m looking to upgrade—currently sitting at 4GB of RAM, and I'd like to bump it up by another 4. I'm trying to figure out how many slots I actually have available and what specific stick I need to buy. Should I grab a single 8GB module, another 4GB one, or just swap both out for two 4GB sticks? It's all a bit fuzzy to me. Since I live in a pretty small town, I don't really have access to any specialized tech shops to ask for help.
Where can I check this info, or how should I go about it?

So, I just started my seasonal job and I'm looking to pick up an ASUS laptop—nothing crazy, just something to run those older games I've been playing for years whenever I get some downtime. Here's my dilemma: I'm living out in a rural farmhouse area where my cell signal is basically non-existent... so I was thinking about grabbing a cheap USB modem/dongle, maybe some kind of antenna or whatever else I can find to grab a neighbor's Wi-Fi signal. I might even need a signal booster if that's actually a thing. It’s a pretty small, isolated spot, and while the signal in town is decent, the only reliable provider around here is Xfinity, which everyone uses. I’d prefer something mobile via a USB stick so I can take it with me later. I could really use some advice on the gear needed to pull this off—if anyone can explain what I should be looking for here in the States, I'd appreciate it.
Basically, I need
- A Wi-Fi antenna? Maybe a link to something decent and affordable—or at least a link (maybe on eBay) so I know exactly what to search for.
- A signal booster (links would be great here too).
- Any necessary extra gear or specific cables.
I'm just a hobbyist with zero technical experience, so I'm a bit lost.
