As long as Jackal, also known as Richard Cook9, gets away with swearing under the guise of irony, Lord Flashheart insults women just because he won't meet them in person—even after traveling all the way from New York City to Los Angeles with a bottle of wine—and various people like Kate Walker54, silentmarlin76, and others from Offtopic show up just to troll the users who aren't even allowed to post there (someone should note the blatant injustice and the massive space provided for trolling by these Offtopic users)... managing this chat is a nightmare.

Fixing a few flaws and restoring the normal state of the chat from a few weeks ago isn't difficult.

Kate Walker54 is struggling to grasp how our nicknames work. She assumes we’re hiding behind new identities, when in reality, all changes are handled by L3ga with full approval.

It’s a shame all those posts and chats were deleted—along with her endless insults and harassment. She rarely participates in the chat unless she’s looking to insult someone or report us for "fighting."

Acceptable boundaries are defined by mutual consent. If one person takes offense at a joke, the joke isn't harmless and the participants aren't on the same page. Such insults should be sanctioned.

If neither party has an issue with the commentary, there is no reason for moderator intervention.

For example, if you call me a chicken and I call you an idiot, and we both move on, that is fine.

However, if you call me a chicken and I tell you to watch your tone, the behavior must stop. If it doesn't, the mods should step in.

It is quite simple.

The reality is that there is a group of well-meaning users who tolerate blunt language among themselves, much like regulars on any standard American message board. Then there are the trolls—people with nothing better to do than jump in to insult, flame, or harass those established users. These trolls are difficult for the community to expel.

If we were asked to list names, everyone would end up listing the same ones. 😉
