Christian Smith2 and Michael Diaz4, you both hit the nail on the head. When you look at the absolute nightmare list of diseases out there—surgeries that drag on for hours—this procedure actually feels pretty minor by comparison. Michael Diaz4, once I get a chance, I’m going to dive into all your old posts and catch up. The bottom line is that you just have to power through it so you don't have to deal with this mess ever again.
Once again, thanks guys.👍
You just gotta man up, grit your teeth, suck it up, and get it over with. 😁
Best, 😉
Christian Smith2 and Michael Diaz4, thanks for the heads-up. This info is going to be a lifesaver for me and anyone else who feels like they've run out of options. I finally got my results back—apparently, I've got grade 3-4 external hemorrhoids, according to the report—and they've scheduled me for surgery in about a month. Honestly, I haven't even decided if I'm actually going through with it yet. A little bit of panic has definitely set in. 🤦🐔
Hey everyone!
I've been dealing with hemorrhoids for years, so I basically learned how to coexist with them. Since they weren't totally wrecking my daily routine, I just ignored them. Every now and then there’d be some bleeding or an insane amount of itching, but I managed to live in that weird symbiosis. I’d occasionally grab some random creams from the drugstore, but honestly, they didn't do much.
My diet is pretty varied—I definitely indulge in the "forbidden fruits" like deli meats, junk food, and spicy stuff once in a while. Digestion hasn't been an issue and I stay moderately active, but genetics is clearly playing a role here. To make a long story short, me and my little hemorrhoid buddies would have kept living this way if I hadn't gone overboard one night. I stuffed myself with spicy food, washed it all down with booze, went out to the patio to smoke, sat on a cold surface, and was bouncing around like a maniac all night long. 🤦
It was probably one of those risk factors, or maybe the whole chaotic combo, that caused me to wake up the next morning in absolute agony.
Realizing the universe was playing a cruel joke on me, I headed straight to the ER. Diagnosis: a thrombosed external hemorrhoid and a smaller internal one. They gave me local anesthesia for about 10-15 minutes, sliced open the external one, and drained the blood. The doctor mentioned that at this stage, no creams are going to help (she didn't specify which ones, but I'm guessing grade three or four), and that I'll eventually need surgery. So, here’s the big question: for anyone who's been through something similar, what was your recovery like after the procedure? Did they come back or anything? Any info helps.
