Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Hi there!

Since you mentioned having your surgery done at Arthur,,, I was wondering if you could share who your surgeon was? I’d also love to know how long the waitlist was once you got on the schedule and what the total cost ended up being. I’ve been doing some digging myself and have a decent baseline of information, so I’m really just looking to compare notes. From what I’ve gathered, Dr. Ivanovic comes highly recommended and seems to be a great choice, but I want to look into other specialists in the field before I make a final decision. These issues first popped up for me about three years ago, and they've definitely progressed since then. Now that I need to see a surgeon for a consultation, I'm feeling a bit stuck. My primary care physician isn't offering much guidance; he basically told me I could go anywhere and suggested the closest hospital, which would be Springfield. Honestly, going there doesn't feel like the right move given what I know about their staff. So, I’m trying to gather as much intel as possible—if you wouldn't mind sharing your experience, I'd truly appreciate it.

Thanks so much! 🙂🙂

In my opinion, nothing beats a good old-fashioned walk or some steady hiking.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to jump on here and share a quick update. After a lot of soul-searching and weighing my options, I finally decided to pull the trigger on Pilex. I’ll be honest—it’s incredibly expensive, almost feels like a bit of a splurge, but believe it or not, the discomfort I was dealing with has become practically negligible since I started. Now, I can't say for certain if it’s entirely due to the Pilex or if other factors are at play, but the relief is definitely there. One thing I’ve learned along the way is that you really have to stay disciplined with your diet to see the best results. Just wanted to pass that along to the group! Wishing you all the very best.

vividcrane25, just so you know, I’ve already cut out almost everything that makes things difficult—things like chocolate, cookies (sigh), toast, and even pork for lunch... so we shall see how it goes. Thank you so much for the timely product recommendation! 😉 I'll definitely be scrolling through these threads if things take a turn for the worse, though I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. 😢

Oh, man, sorry about that—I certainly didn't mean to scare you. I've been dealing with this for years, but honestly, I was negligent and didn't do anything to address it. About two weeks ago, I started bleeding quite heavily, and that was my wake-up call that things were getting out of hand. I barely managed to get the bleeding under control. Now, I'm drinking plenty of water, snacking on dried fruit (mostly prunes), and slowly adjusting to a new routine. I've never been a huge meat eater anyway, and I hardly touch alcohol. I went through a full round of Pilex (which is expensive as all get out!) and now I'm just working on maintaining a manageable baseline. 🙂
If things stay this way, I'll be fine, but I'm still a little worried that my backside and I might have a few more rough patches ahead of us. 😂

Warm regards from Cincinnati👋

Elizabeth Jackson64 said:Hey everyone... I think my situation might fit right in here. Lately, I've had to spend a massive amount of time sitting down due to work requirements, and over the last two days, I noticed 😬 a few thin streaks of blood on the toilet paper when I go, along with some discomfort during the process. It feels like I'm dealing with hemorrhoids. I've never experienced anything like this before, so I wanted to reach out. I did try scrolling through the previous posts, but there are just so many that finding a specific answer to my exact question feels like looking for a needle in a haystack. Is there any chance this is simply a result of sitting too much? Do you think it might clear up if I take warm chamomile baths and try cutting back on sweets, chocolate, or sugary snacks for a while? I don't usually eat fast food, so... please help! 🙂

It’s going to take some time and a lot of patience. While these issues have only just started and don't seem critical yet, unfortunately, the most difficult part is often still ahead of you.
