Hi, I'm 28 and have been on Yasmin birth control for almost four years now. It works perfectly for me, but because my D-dimer levels came back slightly elevated, my OBGYN sent me for extra blood clotting tests.
The only thing "off" is my antithrombin III level—mine is 0.75, while the normal range starts at 0.85.
The doctor who ran the labs thinks I should stop taking the pill just to be safe, even though there’s zero history of thrombosis, heart disease, or strokes in my family. I've never smoked, I'm not overweight, and I don't deal with high blood pressure or weird headaches.

On the flip side, I've heard that it's actually normal for antithrombin III to drop when you're on estrogen-based pills and that there's nothing to worry about. In fact, if I stop taking them, I might actually be doing more harm than good.

I'm stuck. Should I really ditch the pill, or is this risk exaggerated? I've felt great on them for four years, and I'm terrified that stopping will trigger total chaos with my PCOS 😢
I have to wait for my OBGYN to get back from vacation before I can get her final take, but any advice in the meantime would be helpful just so I know what to expect. 🙂
