Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice?

So, I'm currently dealing with some external discomfort that’s becoming quite painful.
I've been using Fact cream and suppositories for about five or six days now, but I haven't seen any real improvement yet.
My doctor has strictly advised me to avoid all physical activity until this clears up, which is incredibly frustrating because I'm an active person and staying sedentary is really tough for me.
What has your experience been like with this, or do you have any specific medical advice regarding such restrictions😕?
